Newsmax’s Boddice-Rippin’ Reporter

What’s the difference between Newsmax and Tiger Beat? Well, I’m betting Tiger Beat has some form of editorial integrity.

Ronald Kessler, Newsmax’s “chief Washington correspondent” on Ann Romney:

“Ann is warm and very natural. She has the look of an outdoors woman bred to be an equestrian, which she is — good carriage, rosy complexion, square jaw, and blond mane.

“When she is not flashing her truly unbelievable smile, she may lower her eyes demurely. But Ann Romney is not demure — she may be modest, but she isn’t meek. She is unpretentious, but she isn’t shy. She lowers her eyes, thinking, and then looks up directly at her interviewer and dazzles him with that smile.”

Those comments were then scrubbed from Newsmax.com mostly because they were oh so embarrassing.

But this isn’t Kessler’s first time writing a bodice ripper about a Bush official. Here’s his take on Dana Perino (Tony Snow’s deputy propagandist):

She has girl-next-door good looks, blond hair, greenish-blue eyes, and a high forehead. But what you notice when she is interviewed on TV is her expressive delivery. You stop and listen for her interesting nuances of emphasis. She doesn’t project the total confidence of the polished newscaster, and as a result, she inspires more trust.

Is he talking about Ann Romney or the horse she rode in on?
