terrorists, AQ, Baathists.

"Terrorists"? You DO realize there are numerous different factions, which each have their own individual goals, right? Of course you don't. Admit it, you just don't want to leave Iraq because it means owning up to your mistakes.

Even putting aside the fact that leaving Iraq is hardly "extremist"....

Give me a REAL answer. Not a talking point. Not a twisting of words. An honest to god far-left policy from the Democratic party. Do it.

Answer: surrender in Iraq.

Now, where I come from, America, we use the prepesition "to" with the verb "surrender". So let me ask you this: who would we be surrendering to?

If I'm wrong, name an "extremist" policy being put out by the "left" in America.

Nimmer, old blighty, you left out 'again".

Answer: surrender in Iraq.

This is really great news for America. With this capitulation by the Dems, Americans now rest easy that the lunatic fringe, such as the MoveOn-crowd, aren't running things.

Hilary gets closer and closer to getting my vote. I said it before. We are headed for 1968 all over agin. The mindless yahoos of the far left will turn on and devour the liberals - when the latter fail to enact extremist policies.

Ahh, is that the fetid stink of the DLC I smell?

Come on, the DLC was in favor of this war from day 1 and supported it right on up to the emergence of Ned Lamont as a strong anti-war candidate. Even then, Rahm openly opposed anit-war candidates and advised avoiding the war as a campaign topic. Yet right after the '06 GOP thrashing, all I heard was "Rahm's a geeeeniiiussss!"

What a load. He's a corporate toady like the rest of the DLC. Take a look at the trade agreement they're drafting. Oh wait, that's right, we can't because they are keeping it secret. No worries, though. Only Cheney and the GOP can't be trusted behind closed doors. Cleary where the energy bill was a gift to the oil barons, this trade bill is a wet kiss to the people. It's so special, the DLC wants it to be a surpise gift that will stay with us for decades. Yippee!

By caving to Bush, I'm sure the DLC is convinced they have covered their asses on every level.

1.)Bush and the GOP get to own the Iraq "War" (or, more accurately, "theft of national resources while using our soldiers and the Iraqis as bullet sponges as the country crashes and burns"...but that's really tiring to say) right on through the '08 elections and the DLC can pretend to be all about bringing the troops home...again. At least Lieberman went back to being completely open about being a tool right after winning re-election.

2.)Since the DLC has no stomach for taking the long road and trying to reframe the debate in the media, they need to run away as fast as they can from looking like they are obstructionists who are putting our soldiers in danger.

3.)All those juicy local DOD and corporate contracts get funded for the foreseeable future.

4.)Come '08, when the DLC selected candidate "wins" the nomination, they are, no doubt, confident that progressives would rather a slimy corporatist war loving Dem took the oval office than a slimy, corporatist war mongering Repub with a jones for drawing over the Constitution with colored Sharpies.

5.)I'm sure we'll hear plenty of wailing about "oh, we wouldn't have been able to put together enough votes to override Bush's veto" and "We can't just let the troops stand in harm's way without the tools they need to get the 'job' done." "Job" being defined as...nothing, naturally. But, hey, the Dems tried, right, fellow progressives? Let's just give them whatever they need to get the "job" done.

Time to deliver an '08 fisting to the DLC. They were almost certainly guaranteed to be next on the hit parade after the GOP stranglehold on the government was broken (though the courts are still vulnerable, so the '08 preznit is still a big deal), but all this just cements my belief that the DLC is only a whisker at best away from the GOP on most matters, particularly groveling before K-street.

In the next US budget you can fine separate budget for Iraq and announcement of electing Mr.Bush as Iraq's new president(after all he is the reformer of Iraq!!!)..Then no wonder you can see second white house in Iraq...

If they voted against the President whose vote would they lose? Almost no ones. Whose vote would they gain? A lot of swing voters that are upset with the war.

By voting for the President whose vote do they gain? Almost no ones. None of the 30% in favor of the President would ever vote for a Dem. Whose vote do they lose? A lot of swing voters who can't see a difference between Democrats and Republicans, and other swing voters that fear this Democratic weakness is representative of the party.
