James Dobson’s Flight Of Fancy

buddy jesus

When he’s not writing about how to whip children like dogs, Focus On The FascismFamily’s James Dobson is claiming that his radio program (a pedantic affair where he explains the world to the mindless sheep who follow him – listen to examples here) is listened to by 220 million people.

Using Dobson math, I’ll state the following:

"OliverWillis.com, edited and written daily by Oliver Willis reaches a potential daily audience of 211 million Americans and 1.1 billion people globally."

That statement is a clear example of honest conservative truthiness.

James Dobson is a "man of God", why would he lie?

Well, since you brought “Buddy Christ” into it, I’ll just say that Dobson and his ilk are the Golgothas – the Shit Demons…

  2. Dobson’s statement that he is on 3500 radio stations is also suspect; there are 11,000 non-college radio stations in the country. Is he really on a third of them? Maybe if you count Canada or elsewhere, but the math stinks until proven clean. Most beer-and-a-shot country stations don’t double up as “Christian” [sic] propaganda machines and that’s the largest format in the country, somewhat surprisingly (small rural stations throughout the South.)

You got it wrong, Oliver. It’s Focus on the Fundraising! I was driving in a remote part of east Texas some years ago, and was either FOF or cattle futures on the radio. So I listened to FOF, where Dobson and his co-host spent TWENTY MINUTES discussing nothing but donations people had sent in!
