Football Ain’t Red State

Eve Fairbanks of The New Republic thinks that Brownback’s football gaffe happened because he was trying to prove his “red-state manliness”. Sure, college football does have a strong southern tinge to it but I think the NFL is clearly not a red-state game. It would certainly surprise the rabid fans in New England, New York/New Jersey, and the DC Metro area (Maryland is the physical home to two teams for goodness sake).

And who’s won the most Super Bowls? (Well, a tie with the unmentionable ones): The San Francisco Pelosi Democrats 49ers!

And don’t forget about Oakland, right across the bridge from San Francisco. You can’t talk about rabid fans without mentioning the Raider Nation.
