This is my mom, Paulette. She is the best mother ever, times a million. For the love of God, turn of the computer and go tell your mom Happy Mother’s Day!

No. My mom is the best.
Just saying.
My best wishes to Paulette too! Evidently she did a fine job in raising a good liberal. I can’t turn off my computer because my mother wants to check her list of political blogs. Sign of the times?
Sent mom a card, flowers and called her, like I do once a week.
You are so right-on. Today I am remembering my mom, who is in Heaven. Seeing you honor yours has enhanced my own day.
On behalf of my late and selfless Mother:
Think of Iraqi mother’s too.
I came across this website chronicaling what I believe to be the beginning of the end in Iraq.

When I think of this Mother’s Day and feel the love of my children, I can’t help think of the horrendous damage we’ve done to the already impoverished mothers and families in Iraq.
But, more importantly, I can’t help but think about what we’ve done to the minds of those Iraqi children surrounded by nightmarish violence 24 hours a day.
Just as Israel is and will be perpetually plagued by their violent Palestinian and Lebonese step-children, so too will the U.S. now be forever plagued with another new crop of traumatized children turned violent.
Only this time they’re ‘over there’. Waiting.
It is well known, hazmaq, that all wars suck. This one is not particularly more damaging, more violent, or sadder, than any other.
Why should we countenance, or even anticipate vengeance from the Iraqis? Did we concern ourselves with vengeance from the Germans or the Japanese?
I recommend to one and all, a movie called Turtles Can Fly
“It is well known, hazmaq, that all wars suck. This one is not particularly more damaging, more violent, or sadder, than any other.”
Um, yes it is more sad because it was a war of choice rather than necessity. Your “damage,” “violence,” and “sadder”…at the hands of the US… need never have happened at all.
It is well known, hazmaq, that all wars suck.
That is why you shouldn’t start them. Duh.
And why you should finish them, victorious, as soon as possible.
Take a new pic of Mom, willya? We’ve seen that one about a hundred times now.
