Grim News For Democrats…

… there they go again, expressing the will of the people.

A majority of the U.S. public disapproves of President Bush’s decision to veto a war spending bill that called for U.S. troops to leave Iraq in 2008, according to a CNN poll released Tuesday.

The poll found that 54 percent of Americans opposed Bush’s May 1 veto, while 44 percent backed the president’s decision to kill the $124 billion bill.

The Dems should hold out for 100% backing on this one. Why take any chances alienating a single voter.

To be super safe they should provide no strings attached funding to the last day of Bush’s second term. It will save them having to to be slapped down by a wimp for the next year and a half.

In other poll news, Bush jumped 6 percentage points in the last 4 days. By Memorial Day, he’ll be in the 70s!

    Bush jumped 6 percentage points!
    Try a 21.4% increase!

I think we’ve talked about that here before. That movie looks positively painful to watch.

“In other poll news, Bush jumped 6 percentage points in the last 4 days. By Memorial Day, he’ll be in the 70s!”

Two different polls, two different methodologies, both within the margin of error of each other.

That’s not an IQ I would brag about.

  8. SaveFarris says:

Hey, if you can cherrypick than so can I.

  9. z adura says:

Farris, when cherry-picking has your guy at 34%, it should tell you something.

  10. “Hey, if you can cherrypick than so can I.”

What cherrypicking? When did we cherry pick?

  11. mike in dc says:

Support for a withdrawal timetable is consistently over 50%, and tends to center around 55-60% in recent polling. If the facts on the ground don’t change much in the next year, it may peak at around 70-75%, which is pretty much “if you support this you will lose badly in November” territory.

  12. SaveFarris says:

When you grabbed a tilted out-of-the-norm poll and declared THAT to be the baseline truth.

By the way, it’s official: the Kansas Tornados had a 50 Times higher death toll than Katrina and STILL President Bush refuses to visit Kansas. I mean, what a heartless bastard!

  13. Rounds77 says:

I don’t know why we continue arguing with these dillusional Bush supporters. The American people no longer heed Republican advice. And the polls have been very reliable and steady for over a year now, saying one thing: Bush sucks!!

  14. z adura says:

Rounds, it is important for Farris and friends to make the fine distinction between three-quarters or two-thirds of Americans hating Bush. Someday soon, probably when Bush has left office, they will all rightfully hate him as he killed the party for a generation.

  15. Rounds77 says:

    Very true.

  16. “When you grabbed a tilted out-of-the-norm poll and declared THAT to be the baseline truth.”

Out-of-the-norm? This is not the first time Bush as been sub-30. It would be cherrypicking if most of his polls were in the 40% range, but this isn’t the case and hasn’t been the case in a long time.
