Man Arrested For Targeting Sen. Clinton

Is this the beginning of a trend?

A 19-year-old LSU student from Shreveport is being held on a $1 million bond, accused of telling a fellow student that he would kill U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton when she visited Baton Rouge during a campaign stop.

Richard Ryan Wargo, 10301 Evangeline, Shreveport, was booked into Parish Prison on counts of terrorizing, communicating false information of planned arson, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Smoking Gun has the warrant.

“Politician targeted for assasination, news at 11, first though our current news story…..Dog bites man….followed immediately by Water is Wet”

Yea Ollie, a trend that started when the first neanderthal declared he was running for office…

Get out that paper sack and start breathing into again willis….

I am afraid that the wing nuts, who see nothing wrong with killing a Dr. performing a legal medical procedure, will make the logical leap to candidates.

The Alabama Militia is unfortunately just the tip of the iceberg with it comes to heavily armed RtWing nut jobs.

Let’s hope the FBI and Secret Service have not be politicized by Rove

    Organic spare us please.

After Tim McVeigh did his thing, there was a rash of books and long magazine articles warning of the impending rise of violent militias. It turned out to be much ado about nothing.

If you have some evidence to support your ‘tip of the iceberg’ theory, then by all means, let’s see it. Otherwise, give that drivel a rest.

Or worse, privatized. I can see it now. The Secret Service protection detail replaced with Blackwater employees.

If anyone mocks your Dear Leader, it’s a crisis and a jail offense

If you have some evidence to support your ‘tip of the iceberg’ theory… Jay

Is there any branch or facet of government not subverted or corrupted by the Bush regime? Any investigation is followed by howls of the wolves on the right defending their Dear Leader, his anti-American policies and actions ultimately revealing the stench of their activities.
The greater the howls, the more the unraveling shows the extent of their crimes.

Jay - perhaps they were “much ado about nothing” because the Clinton FBI and justice department dedicated resources to making sure that these violent splinter groups were closely monitored and violent actions intercepted? How come they never get credit for that? After all, we are always told “Hey libtards, if Bush is so bad why hasn’t there been a terrorist attack on US Soil since 9/11? Huh? Huh?!?”

Further, does anyone else remember the shock and outrage! among the wingnutosphere not long ago about a MOVIE featuring the assassination of GW Bush? Further demonstrating that the right wing view of the world is all about symbolism over substance, making a fictional alternate history movie about a presidential assassination is an affront which must be decried from the rooftops, but an actual specific statement about planning to assassinate a real person is worthy of a yawn and a “Dog Bites Man” dismissal.

They didn’t get credit for it because the threat never existed. It was a farce. A fairytale made up in part by the gun grabbers in this country in an effort to expand gun control.

  9. Gravatar Icon 9 Nimrod Gently

If something appears that might force Jay to praise Clinton in anyway, he simply denies its very existence. Well, I’m surprised.

“Further, does anyone else remember the shock and outrage! among the wingnutosphere not long ago about a MOVIE featuring the assassination of GW Bush?”

Heh, Republicans are the only ones left who get genuinely angry at Channel Four.

    Jesse Helms threatens Clinton
:Mr. Clinton better watch out if he comes down here. He’d better have a bodyguard. ATTRIBUTION:Jesse Helms (b. 1921), U.S. Republican senator from North Carolina. New York Times, p. A19 (November 23, 1994).

Public statement made a week after calling the President unfit to be commander-in-chief.
Wouldn’t the nutters like Jay pee their panties if Reid said that about their Dear Leader?

FBI ‘oversteps’ Patriot Act 3000 times. oops.

  11. Gravatar Icon 11 Jay

Nimrod, eff off. I’ve credited Clinton with quite a few things. With this he gets nothing because there was no militia threat. The whole thing was nonsense just like this ‘tip of the iceberg’ thing is nonsense too.

Put down the Guiness and do a little research.

  12. Gravatar Icon 12 Nimrod Gently

What Guinness? I’m not even Irish.

  13. Gravatar Icon 13 Oliver Willis

Or maybe federal crackdowns on militias along with a huge public backlash against them after Oklahoma, made the threat go underground. And the possible electoral success of a woman or black man is just the kind of thing to bring “the base” out.

  14. Gravatar Icon 14 fd10801

Oliver: Sounds like you’re suggesting there shouldn’t be a woman candidate or a black candidate. I know you’re not, so what now?

The Republicans issue one of those stupid statements that the Democrats are famous for: “We deplore violence, and welcome the opportunity of anyone and everyone to participate in the Democratic process, blah, blah, blah, yadda, yadda, yadda…”

Then you can say what phonies they are.

  15. Gravatar Icon 15 C.S.Strowbridge

“Sounds like you’re suggesting there shouldn’t be a woman candidate or a black candidate.”

It only sounds that way to you because you are stupid. This is the same mental weakness that makes you unable to understand sarcasm, irony, litotes, bathos, and any number of Figures of speech.

This is the same mental weakness that makes you a conservative.

CSS: Why are you bothering me? What did I do to you? Do I owe you money? Did I run over your dog?

Why don’t you think of something to say ABOUT THE TOPIC, and then type it in the box.

    DON’T follow me around.
    DON’T critique my comments.

You see, Oliver doesn’t like it if I go off topic, or make the thread about me.

It seems that when other people do it, it’s OK. That makes things inconvenient for me, you see. You can be an asshole anytime you want, but if I respond, I could be banned.

That may be your goal — to get me banned. That’s why I type these messages. So Oliver can see that I’m trying, and that you’re being a prick.

  17. Gravatar Icon 17 C.S.Strowbridge

    “Why are you bothering me?”

Cause you keep saying stupid things. OW says the crazies are back in town because there’s a chance a woman or a black man could become president. You respond with, “Sounds like you’re suggesting there shouldn’t be a woman candidate or a black candidate.”

That has got to be one of the dumbest things anyone has said on this blog for a long, long time. … Okay, if I did the reseach Pedro probably beat you with something earlier in the day, but it is still really dumb.

There is no way you could interpret OW’s comments the way you did unless you are projecting your own feelings, a very successful troll, or completely stupid. I gave you the benefit of the doubt and went with the last one.

    “DON’T follow me around.
    DON’T critique my comments.”

DON’T post on a public board is you DON’T want people to respond.

“You see, Oliver doesn’t like it if I go off topic, or make the thread about me.”

Do a little research, there are entire threads on this blog where I’m not involved at all, but you are freaking out over someone else. Am I causing you to dominate a thread and take it off topic when I not even there?

In other words, it’s not me, it’s you.

You do this to yourself; it is not the fault of the many people you attack.

  18. Gravatar Icon 18 StarkyLuv

And I don’t care what the asinine righties that troll here say. These types of things will more than likely be EXCLUSIVELY done on the right towards the Democratic candidates.

Just think about: The WORST nightmare of the American “only White Christians are ‘real Americans’” crowd is either a black man or a woman becoming president. And doesn’t look like that might happen, it looks like it WILL happen.

And of course the only way the racists, the sexists, the homophobes and xenophobes know how to deal with their fears is to eradicate that which they fear. Expect this to be a constant theme all the way until the election.

And not to sound completely cynical, it wouldn’t shock me if there’s an actual attempt on either Obama’s or Clinton’s life.

  19. Gravatar Icon 19 fd10801

CSS: Nice job of deflection. As far as I (or any other fair minded person) could tell, I posted with no anticipation that there would be any reponse from from you.

I did not create your response. I didn’t type it up. I was nowhere near your keyboard. So let’s not prattle on about how my comment generated your response.

For a moment, I will save you the trouble of re - reading my comment for content.

Sounds like you’re suggesting there shouldn’t be a woman candidate or a black candidate. I know you’re not, so what now?

    Try again, asshole.

The “I insult you because you make me do it”, is WAY old and WAY played.

  20. Gravatar Icon 20 fd10801

And not to sound completely cynical, it wouldn’t shock me if there’s an actual attempt on either Obama’s or Clinton’s life.
And it wouldn’t surprise me, if somehow, someway, some story is ginned up to look as an assassination attempt.

  21. Gravatar Icon 21 Marty

    Damn, Starkley!

Just as always, taking it to the extreme. As if there are no crazies on the left who want to see Cheney, the President, or some of the Republican candidates dead. Hell- I bet you wish they were all dead, don’t you?

I say find and prosecute any nutcase who threatens any politician or candidate.

    But you keep making predictions.

  22. Gravatar Icon 22 fd10801

You do this to yourself; it is not the fault of the many people you attack.
So when I responded to Oliver, you felt attacked?
This is the second time you’ve played the role of blog defender. And the idea that this is a public blog does not generate your behavior. What would this blog be like if Oliver posted something about John Edwards, and somebody said, “I like Barack Obama, but I hate C.S. Strowbridge”?

OK, enough said about the public blog.

So, you’re not the Blog Police.

“Nice job of deflection. As far as I (or any other fair minded person) could tell, I posted with no anticipation that there would be any reponse from from you.”

It’s a public board. You want to talk to just one person, you take it to e-mail. (I don’t suggest doing this, cause I doubt there’s anyone here that wants to talk to you in private.)

“For a moment, I will save you the trouble of re - reading my comment for content.”

I’ve read your quote. It is still wrong.

You: “Sounds like you’re suggesting there shouldn’t be a woman candidate or a black candidate. I know you’re not, so what now?”

Sounds like? What OW said sounds nothing like what you posted. Nothing.

    Unless you are…

    1.) Projecting
    2.) Trolling
    3.) Stupid.

The, “I know your not…” is little more than a Cavuto.

“So when I responded to Oliver, you felt attacked?”

No, but I felt the need to respond. And since this is a public blog, I have that choice.

“And the idea that this is a public blog does not generate your behavior.”

No. But your comments shape my responses.

“What would this blog be like if Oliver posted something about John Edwards, and somebody said, ‘I like Barack Obama, but I hate C.S. Strowbridge’?”

That would be funny. In fact, I wouldn’t care if OW had that as the title for one of his posts.

I like Barack Obama, but I hate C.S. Strowbridge.
