Right Wing Terror Watch: Alabama Free Militia Planned To Attack Hispanics

Encouraged?

Five members of a self-styled Alabama militia were denied bond Tuesday after a federal agent testified they planned a machine-gun attack on Mexicans. A sixth man accused of having weapons and explosives components in his home was approved for release.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert Armstrong said he could not grant bond because of the agent’s testimony and the large number of weapons — including about 200 homemade hand grenades and a launcher — that were seized in raids last Friday.

“I’m going to be worried if I let these individuals go at this time,” the judge said.

The five are charged with conspiring to make a firearm.

    “Encouraged?”
    Inflammatory? Yes.
    Demagogic? Yes.
    In the least truthful? No.
    Shameful? Regretfully, yes.

  2. Oliver says:

Yes, because clearly no Republican elected officials have said anything remotely offensive about the brown hordes destroying white America.

  3. Macswain says:

Excuse me … but isn’t it the right that’s attacking the judge, jury and prosecutors over the convictions of two border patrol officers for shooting a person who was attempting illegal entry into the country? Isn’t the right that is demanding a pardon of these illegal actions and, by doing so, legitimizing such violence?

  4. fd10801 says:

Neither one of you said anything that makes it OK to say that those were “encouraged” by anyone.

Oliver, you’re wrong. No Republicans used terms like “brown hordes” or “destroying America” and please, no sound bites from the Savage show, which I have never heard — even quoted — and which may not even be broadcast around here.

    Macswain, you’re really wrong.

I don’t know enough about the border patrol officers incident to call their actions illegal.

I don’t know for certain that objections to their guilt come solely from the right.

And I don’t know that anyone who has suggested that these men should be pardoned, has also asked that violence be legitimized.

You’re both making a tenuous (at best) connection between disapproval of illegal immigration (not very common), and encouragement of violence [violence - rare, encouragement of violence ("hen's teeth" rare)].

    In the least truthful? No.

    How so?
So in a case where you don’t have a whole lot of information, you just label everybody else wrong. Ok, I get it.

Isn’t this the same group of landlocked winners who called themselves the Alabama Naval Militia? Real brain trust.

  6. Well, well, well. Isn’t this the group that Frank defended saying the story was basically about nothing. ‘They just had weapons. They were planning on attacking anyone.’

Or was that a different right-wing militia arrested recently?

In spite of all that, thanks for taking a few moments to fill up the big empty space where your post would have been if you hadn’t typed it up.

Quaker, I believe those were rhetorical devise. Feel free to fill in any gaps.

Same for you, Duros. I don’t know what happened, so they might be right?

Oliver: Where are the “brown hordes”, and the “destroying America.”

Keep on pretending, Oliver? Pretending what, Oliver? That I hate Mexican immigrants? Pretending I hate Hispanic immigrants (like the grandparents of my children)? Pretending that Republicans encourage violence — when they don’t?

Stick to bashing Bush — then you don’t have to wallow in slander and tabloid nonsense.

like fd has kids. sure you do.

merlallen: You are scum who is unfit to drink my urine.

Why would I lie about having children? To make some stupid point to a scrotum brained pimp like you?

Let’s pick one night a week to shoot anyone crossing the border.

How about a T-Shirt promoting shooting people crossing the border?

Or maybe suggesting that “the National Guard shoot illegal immigrants and receive ‘$100 a head.’”

And there’s Bill O’Reilly, who supports a group (the Minutemen) that “Wants to shoot illegal immigrants.”

And that’s just from the FIRST PAGE of a Google search. Dang, Frank, the right wing promoting violence against illegal immigrants really is “hen’s teeth rare.”

  12. fd10801 says:

ND: How about telling me the search terms?

  13. nihilistic_disintegration says:

    Sure, Frank.

    “shoot illegal immigrants”

  14. fd10801 says:

“shoot illegal immigrants” = 1,992 hits (no pun intended)

    immigrants = 32,720,000 hits

a veritable avalanche of support for that idea

    Oh, yeah…

    “hen’s teeth” = 93,000 hits

    Google is Not your Friend

    “support immigration” = 57,400 hits

    “oppose immigration” = 19,600 hits

  15. nihilistic_disintegration says:

That’s great, Frank. Nice to see you hitting the Google. My point, however, was that you said that the encouragement of violence against illegal immigrants was “hen’s teeth rare.”

The definition of which is “to be very difficult or impossible to find.”

I pointed out that it isn’t quite as rare as you thought. Wasn’t very hard to find at all.

    Have a nice day.

  16. fd10801 says:

You’ve made your point, ND: If you can find it on Google, it’s happening all over.

What a bright lad you are.
