Golly, I can’t imagine why Democrats don’t think they should have their candidates debate on a
pro-Republican propaganda network like Fox News. I mean, it’s not like the man who owns Fox News has explicitly said that his media organizations are designed to be nice to Bush and other Republicans.
Oh wait, he did.
Rupert Murdoch wore his politics on his sleeve Tuesday, telling a large audience of business leaders that the press is routinely unfair to George W. Bush and that the president doesn’t seem capable of defending himself.
“I’m a supporter of President Bush, but I do believe he’s a bad — or inadequate — communicator,” Murdoch told attendees at the Milken Institute Global Conference in Los Angeles.
The News Corp. chairman and CEO said that, personally, Bush is “persuasive, strong and articulate” but that “he seems to freeze whenever a television camera appears.”
Motioning to Paul Gigot, editorial page editor of the Wall Street Journal, Murdoch said, “Apart from your newspaper and mine, there’s a sort of monolithic attack on him every day of the year.”
did he just say Ollie was a monolith?
Jesus, your down to fat jokes now fake doctor? Sheesh.
if you ignored him, ow, he would go away. he desperately needs attention and you’re the only one who ever gives him any.
I think it’s refreshing to hear someone in Murdoch’s position to be honest about his support to the President. It would be interesting if Les Moonves (or any other TV News Mogul) would be as candid about their support and/or biases. Though twisting it into “designed to be nice to Bush and other Republicans” is a bit of a stretch.
How about “increasing the dialog into more than just one point of view?”
Bush may be a great friend to Gigot and Murdoch, but the public only sees the weak leader who fumbles his words, ideas and thoughts. There was always a question about Reagan’s competency, especially in his second term, but at least when the cameras came on, he was clear, articulate and passionate.
How about “increasing the dialog into more than just one point of view?
Haw!
That would be nice.
George Bush is the scapegoat for the Democratic Congress who cannot come up with any ways to administer and people who cannot manage their money, wanting something for nothing. Now, it’s the president’s fault? We will see if Obama can save us from ourselves.
I have spoken with people making over $60,000 saying they believe that Obama is going to bail them out of the debt they cannot handle anymore. what? I thought we were to budget our money and only buy what we can pay for. Then I was stunned when they said most of the people who got in the balloon payment trouble didn’t understand it. Wait, who would sign papers on something they don’t understand? Considering the number of foreclosures, that premise makes it look as though the majority of homeowners are stupid. If that’s the truth, we are doomed!
