Attack Dog Cheney: The Democratic Response

Harry Reid’s spokesman responds to Shooter Cheney’s verbal diarrhea.

Vice President Cheney should be the last person to lecture anyone on how leaders should make decisions.

Leaders should make decisions based on facts and reality, two words that seem to be foreign to the Vice President.

This is the same guy who said Iraq has weapons of mass destruction and that we would be greeted as liberators. And it’s the same guy who continues to assert that Saddam Hussein had links to al Qaeda long after our own intelligence agency conclusively refuted this notion. To suggest he lacks credibility would be an understatement.

The Vice President’s and others’ attacks on those who disagree with their failed policies are signs of desperation. They are lashing out because they know the days are numbered for their failed strategy and that the American people and a bipartisan majority are determined to force this Administration to change course in Iraq.

Only idiots and the media (not a mutually exclusive grouping) believe that Dick Cheney has anything intelligent to say.

Dayum. Keep it up, Harry! I wanna see Big Dick bust a blood vessel on live TV! Man, that would be teh awsome…

  2. Nimrod Gently says:

    Give ‘em hell.

The war is clearly lost. How on earth can you expect to prosecute a guerilla war w/o the support of the American people ? These things take time and the American people are unwilling to give this Administration any more time. The sooner the GOP realizes this the better.

At this point all signs point to defeat and the only ones saying otherwise are the same ones Cheney, Bush etc.. that have been wrong about Iraq since day 1. These people have ZERO credibility. You cannot keep turning everything you touch into shit and expect people to keep listening. They are done.

Bush is trying to pull off an LBJ and save his ass. There is a special place in hell for him and his GOP ilk.

What they have done to this country and the troops in politicizing them claiming that they support them while sending them into the grinder w/o proper training is disgusting!

From “Give ‘em hell Harry” to ‘Give in Harry’. What a journey for the Dems. And Reid is wrong. He needs to to do his homework. There were links between between AQ and Iraq. We’ve been through this before. Reid is dishonest. (links versus operational control)

And of course, many, many Democrats also said Saddam had WMds/programs.

Veep is right, ‘Give-In Harry’ wrong.

  5. Wellstone says:

Ahh, the stenh of Sugger in the air.

There were NO “links” in the sense that the President, Cheney, and you menat it in October 2002.

It’s just plain dishonest for you and the rest of the wingnuts to go back now and say, “Well, we never said “Operational Control” links, really.

But there were links, you know, links. Like when you link 911 to Iraq.

    Those kind of links.

    Idiots.

  6. Wellstone says:

    As to the standard right-wingnut

“Hillary and Kerry both said Saddam had WMD’s!! Were they lying, too??”

    1. They were misled. You want to compliment the job done by Cheney’s men in the Office of Special Plans to deliberately deceive and mislead the Congress, the White House, and the American People in order to drag us to war, you go right ahead.

    2. There WERE no WMD’s in Iraq AT THE TIME OF THE INVASION. We spent two years, millions of man-hours by dedicated Americans from the 101st Airborne to the ISG and BILLIONS of dollars desperately looking for ANY trace of significant WMD’s, and in fact Bush, Santorum, Hoekstra, and others have embarrassed themselves publicly by making statements that they’d found WMD’s when in fact it was just insignificant traces and just so much wishful thinking.

Seam Hannity once said they found traces of Sarin in the Tigris river, they should just make a public announcement and be done with it. Of course, it turned out to be pesticide runoff, but he said “What’s the difference? Just declare it done!!”

I guess you feel the same way, huh, Dugger?

  7. Duros62 says:

I think Cheney is in his last throes, as it were.
Love the quote by Reid at Huffpo: “I’m not going to get in a name-calling match with someone who has a 9% approval rating.”

If by links you mean Saddam and Osama used the same dry cleaners, then yes there is a “link”. Otherwise, um, no.

  8. nightfox02 says:

    Dugger,

If you still have to try to sell the war even after it is already lost chances are you are confused yourself..

This isnt America’s finest hour by a longshot. How about being the bigger man and actually admitting you screwed the pooch and followed the most inept administration ever over the cliff.

To claim that there was Al Qaeda in Iraq is a LIE and irresponsible. You cannot LIE your way out of situations. This is real life and our troops are dying for the Iraqi Civil War.
