Instapundit joins the chorus of morons comparing reflecting the majority opinion on the Iraq war to the pro-segregationist wing of the Republican party. It’s like they share one brain and pass it around.

    Pedro, Oliver didn’t say that Kristol or Instapudwank supported segregation in the links provided. Read.

    What he said was that the two of them stupidly and/or disingenuously compared

    a) Harry Reid’s correct assessment of Bush’s failure in Iraq

    to

    b) Trent Lott’s statement about segregationist Strom Thurmond: “When Strom Thurmond ran for president, [Mississippi] voted for him. We’re proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn’t have had all these problems over the years, either”

    Trent Lott and Strom Thurmond represent the “pro-segregationist wing of the Republican party” that Oliver is talking about. Baby Kristol and Instapampers are just their hack apologists.

    Embarrassing business for people like you who are always bringing up Robert Byrd’s repudiated 50-year-ago membership in the KKK. You don’t need to go back that far to find died-in-the-wool racists in the GOP.

    Before 1948 the Democratic party was the refuge of racists. Now it’s the Republican party.
