The Drudge – Politico – Ben Smith Nexus

Glenn Greenwald lays it all out. The Politico should really just be called out for what it is: an outlet for right-wing nonsense to attack Democratic pols. A lot of the people who write for Politico think that the era of “journalism” from ‘91-present where the press exists to slam Democratic politicians (Clinton, Gore, Kerry, Edwards, Obama, Clinton) and suck up to Republican ones is the normal state of things, and if it means servicing Massah Drudge they’re more than happy to do it.

But it isn’t real journalism in any sense of the word.

80% of journalist are self-defined liberals who vote democrat…

You work for a group who’s entire raison d’etre is to attack the media in the few instances that it isn’t supporting your liberal agenda.

And Glenn “Sockpuppet” Greenwald has “laid it all out…”?

    Pu-lease……

How would you describe Media Matters?

  3. “80% of journalist are self-defined liberals who vote democrat…”

Sure, let’s see THAT study, Pedro. Meanwhile, Glenn’s utterly right about the way the right wing media works to get its character assault narrative into mainstream sources.

Is there such a thing as “real journalism” anymore?

  5. SaveFarris says:

I submit there never was. Jounalists have been faking it and throwing around their biases since Guttenberg. It’s only now with the blogosphere and talk radio that the audience can respond and react.

I think I’ll take a stab at answering the unattributed question.

Media Matters is a non-profit organization that, by law, is forbidden from engaging in partisan politics, while it roots out anything that appears in the media that might detract from the Left’s domination of mainstream media. It demonizes the right, marginalizes moderates, and relentlessly purges the left of any who stray from its orthodoxy.

It also pays our gracious host a salary to do various and sundry duties that don’t keep him from blogging during the work day.

And it achieves all this without engaging in anything like partisan political activity, which would endanger its tax-free non-profit status.

    Any questions?

I just don’t see how the affable star of Police Academy has anything to do with biased journalism, SaveFarris.

JayTea and his wacky, unsourced, conspiracy theories strike again. You know I just laugh at you guys, right? Frankly you guys sound mighty envious.

By the way, some other non-partisan non-profits:

    The Heritage Foundation
    American Enterprise Institute
    Accuracy in Media
    Media Research Center

    More here.

    Ok, off you go! :)

Yeah, Oliver, a little envious. I wish my job paid me to blog, instead of demanding I actually do work.

Guess that shows in quality of work, though. For you, it’s for the Benjamins. For me, it’s purely for its own purposes.

    J.

  10. Oliver says:

LOL. Yes, because I came to your place of work to scope things out. Oh wait, that was you. And like I’ve said a thousand times: I wish MM paid me to blog, would be a lot less stress for me than doing my actual work duties.
