On a more serious note, both Rush and Hannity were going wild yesterday because of their belief in a plan originating at the top levels of the Democrat party that would reinstitute the so-called “fairness doctrine,” either through legislation signed by a Democrat president, or through operatives like Jackson and Sharpton who would pick off “dangerous” hosts one by one.
Well? Is there something to their theory?
I hope so.
It would be nice if those broadcasters who have been handed a huge chunk of the broadcast $pectrum for beans were held to a certain standard where the public trust is concerned. Crazy ideas like the Fairness Doctrine and more stringent guild lines governing media consolidation were meant to protect the public interest and prevent monopolization of the public airwaves by narrow corporate and political interests.
So I, for one, wish there was some librul conzpirzy plot to reform the media.
Oliver, if the left can blame Pres. Bush and Karl Rove for everything from bad sitcoms to “pip in poultry”, why are you surprised that conservatives blame the Clintons for everything?
Isn’t this Bill’s handiwork?
“The left”, aka the voices in your head.
