56 killed in Karbala car bombing

A car bomb exploded Saturday in a bus station in the Shiite holy city of Karbala, killing at least 56 people, police and hospital officials said.

More than 70 people were also wounded in the attack, according to an official at Al-Hussein Hospital. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to release the information.

    See? The surge is working. We’ve driven the insurgents out of Baghdad so they have to go all the way to Karbala to kill people!

    And in Baghdad they’re reduced to blowing up bridges. Bridges aren’t people. Sure, there were people on the bridges when they blew up, but at least their not blowing up people.

    Oh yeah, they blew up some legislators, too. But that’s okay, because government is not the solution, government is the problem.

    You see, Rounds77, there are no specific rules for what people should be appalled at. I have no particular reason to look at the war in Iraq, and think, “Wouldn’t it be horrible if someone dies in this war”.

    Maybe you liberals can pick and choose which deaths are OK, but I think they’re all pretty much the same — bad.

    All the families and friends grieve, whether it’s a death on the USS Cole, or South Korea, or the Mekong Delta.

    The kid doesn’t get any older, whether it’s Serbia or Somalia.

    If he or she had children, their children will miss them whether they died in the Pentagon, or Darfur.
