For God's sake, try to look happier. If an outright smile is too much, a snarkily raised eyebrow, suggesting just that there is still some joie de vivre left in the author along with perhaps a frisson of irreverence, would be a good touch. Or, failing 1, 2. Go for a full on "I hate the world and everything in it" motif, squint angrily at the viewer and point at the camera while wearing a business suit a la O'Reilly, or grit your teeth and clutch a writing implement (or a keyboard) showing your readiness to fight the world with your weapon of choice.
