According to newsweek, the Imus firing was a planned hit by the digital brownshirts of Media Matters!

Ahh yes, this all making sense now….this is more of the MM bunch huddling over video feeds and hunting down anyone who doesn’t drink their brand of cool-aid, attempting to stifle anyone who doesn’t toe their line. Don’t even bother trying to pretend this had anything to do with right/left politics either…this is a straight out free speech hit job….

MD…You must not be understanding what I am saying…racism/bigotry is found in all races and ethnicities…are there racist African Americans and other people of color…ABSOLUTELY!! But to push aside the fact what Imus said was WRONG no matter what color he was and inferring that what he said is ok because of the music in rap, and the dialogue on some tv stations is like clinging to a piece of cardboard in a raging sea and hoping you’ll stay afloat…I’ll clarify something for you…I am bi-racial…dad-black, mom-white…so when I said that I have experience racism a time or two I wasn’t joking…FROM BOTH SIDES! So being discriminated for being white is not a new concept for me…I agree with most of what you say but I still contend that IN THIS CASE just because Sharpton and Jackson said that this was a case of race doesn’t necessarily make it so and that IN THIS CASE the color GREEN ruled the day…but you cannot take the civil rights movement and all the atrocities that were committed during not only that time frame but also during the days of slavery and equate that with what happened to the Duke Lacrosse players…civil rights activitists still mean something just remember that Jesse and Al don’t really fit that bill any longer…those that still fight the honest fight against racism and for equality for ALL people will tell you that they fight not only for people of color but for equality FOR ALL PEOPLE…I believe that we could go on forever and argue valid points but what good would that do? So I’ll say this and let it go…Imus is fired…he is gone…he will get another job somewhere…he will probably be a little more careful about choosing what he deems as comedy and putting into the airwaves from here on in…his life and the lives of the Rutgers Women’s basketball team will go on…Al and Jesse will continue to try to make a buck posing as crusaders against evil tyranny…people of all colors and hues will continue to fell that they have been wronged by somebody of another color or hue…Duke Lacrosse players will move on to lucurative lives…NC DA will be disbarred, BET, UPN, FOX NEWS, will stay on the air…and through all this CORPORATE AMERICA will get richer and richer playing on our fears and insecurities and cashing in on our failure to recognize that money is the almighty mammon and rules all…

Amazed: The problem you don’t see is that anyone who stands up to Al, Jesse, the NAACP, or any minority activist group gets labeled racist, bigot, sexist, homophobe……..etc. These are title that cannot be defended against. They can be proven only by a few people saying that they are. This is because the Media in this country (run by socialists) only give one half of the story, the “this guy’s a racist” side, with both Rev AL and Rev Jesse getting the lime light of how he’s racist, while they put something about Civil Rights under their name, little part of the accused saying part of his peace (the part that helps sell the story) and there you go. The guy is guilty, because all those wgo watch think back to the 60’s and how civil rights activists use to mean something, like when DR. King was alive, but those days are gone. The public doesn’t see that because the media won’t let them. Just like the Duke Lacross case. If it weren’t for FOX News, it would have been another witch hunt, where everyone bowed to Al, Jesse, and the NAACP. This is not about civil rights anymore, if it was then no one’s rights would have been infringed, but a they were. This is about hatred, supermecy, and racism. The NAACP, Al, and Jesse don’t want civil rights, they want payback for slavery, they want every white person to pay with their freedom, they want us to feel as their ancestors did. I’ve heard young blacks talk like this and wondered where they get it from and the past few days have shown me that this is not about fair and right it’s about making white people pay. That’s my take based on racist remarks I have had to put up with on BET, UPN, at parties that my black “friend” would invite me to, were he was cool with me but around his “friends” he was a racist, criminals I had to watch who were on restriction, click I saw on my ship, and what happened this past week to Imus and the Duke Lacross players, who have not received an apology from any black activist group who condemned them yet. NOT ONE!!!! They actually beleive that the DA ruined his own career and maybe his life to save three rich white people!!!!! It’s all about race, you may not think so cause it’s against white people, so the concept is new to you, but it is racial discrimination in all it’s definitions.

Ok, so let me get this straight…just because Jesse and Al…the jaded Reverends “say” it’s a racist remark then it IS one? I am 45 years old and while I did not live during the same times at the same age as the aforementioned “gentlemen” I have experienced quite a bit of true racism in my day…What Imus said was insensitive, and bigoted yes…but the fact STILL remains that IF no sponsers withdrew support from the show then he would have served his suspension and been back eventually. As far as a Jesse/Al “sponsered” boycott…I live in South Carolina and the NAACP has been trying to get African Americans to boycott this state because of the Confederate flag that once flew on the state capitol building…albeit that it now is off the capitol building but still on the state house grounds; the boycott has not worked yet. People…Jesse and Al DO NOT speak for every African American man and woman in this country! I believe that they pick their battles according to how much positive press and how lucurative the situation may be to them…Oh, they do some good in some instances but I believe that for the most part they are self serving…and to Hedley…Imus losing listeners wasn’t the problem…true it WAS too soon to tell…but Imus did lose sponsers…BIG ONES…and that was the proverbial last straw…and who exactly would Al and Jesse have had to boycott Imus…I would venture to guess that not many African Americans were listeners, and although he had a few African American guests from time to time he had more than enough other people that would still come on his show after all the hoopla died down…’nuff said!

Amazed: This was a racial issue. Didn’t Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson both confirm it was a raist remark? Then that would make it a RACIAL ISSUE. Didn’t Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson go to CBS and tell them that there would be protests until they fired Imus? YES. MSNBC fired Imus because fellow employees complained about keeping him because of his RACIST comment. Both of those incidents make this a racial issue. Did advertisers leave? Yes, but did it make an impact on NBC or CBS? NO. In fact I think their stock went up over the next couple of days after this happened. So it was not about money. The problem in this country is that if a black man got canned for saying racist remarks on the radio (which they do every day) this would be racism. Since it’s a White guy he got what he deserves, since he’s white and white people owe black people because of slavery, and every black commentator I saw on Cable News all said basically the same thing. He deserved to get fired for a racist comment, but black people are allowed to make racist comments about white people because of slavery.

But the race issue is a political one when the politicians place race ahead of whats right or wrong, fair or unfair, so they can get the minority votes. Look at illegal immigration. They will give them amnesty even though the majority of America doesn’t want it, because it means more votes for them and more political power. Then they make it a “race” issue so that if anyone apposes them they are racist. When it’s not about race it’s about legal and illegal, not to mention this is the exact same way Texas gained independence from Mexico, is an influx in illegal immigration to Texas from America to get free land. The majority became American and they had enough of a majority to pull away from Mexico, and if you don’t think the hispanic power movement hasn’t thought of this, your wrong. they have it on there web pages that they will take the land back that was “stolen” from them in the Mexican/American War. So if you wanna look at politics as they’re no racial go ahead, it doesn’t make it true. Why do you think Hillary Clinton went to Selma with a Black accent? SHE NEEDS VOTES!!!

EVERYBODY here as lost sight of the real reason that Imus was canned…oh, sure the racism issue makes for a platform for alot of people to spout rhetoric all day long but Imus was not fired for being a fricking bigot…he was fired because the sponsers that he had saw that precious public opinion was crucifying him and they wanted to disassociate themselves in order to insure that they did not lose a SINGLE, SOLITARY DIME!!! Wake up everybody! Jesse, Al, Imus, Condi, Duke Lacrosse players, Rappers and their nasty, degrading lyrics…NOBODY, ABSOLUTLY NOBODY is greater than the ALMIGHTY DOLLAR! Go to your job on Monday and do something that your boss/bosses think might discredit the company that you work for…YEAH, you’ll be fired for cause quicker than you can say, “Rainbow Coalition”! The employer ALWAYS has a right to censure speech, no matter how cowardly that it may appear to others…the employer is trying to do one thing and one thing only…MAKE A BUCK! Race is an issue in this country, this is indeed true…but in THIS case, race did not play a part in the Imus termination…dollars and cents did. As an African American man I don’t think Imus should have been fired on the basis of this one incident…now if you want to add all the incidents of bigotry that he has displayed since he has been on air then fine…but, for anyone to be foolish enough to believe that THIS incident is merely a racial issue does not recognize who really runs this country…CORPORATE AMERICA! It might help to stop seeing “the race issue” as a political one.

The federal government, if it has any business in this dispute, should stay out of it, anyway.

I believe that the beginning of our serious racial division (obviously, not the beginning of discrimination for blacks) was in forced school busing to achieve integration.

Two glaring examples: In Yonkers, NY, a Judge Sand micromanaged the race issue in education until he left the bench.

Example #2 Lincoln School in New Rochelle NY was demolished, because a suitable plan to integrate it couldn’t be found.

No they don’t, they’re asking for consistency. If you silence one man by firing him for a racist/sexist comment, then every other person who makes racist/sexist comments should be silenced also. See it discrimination when you allow one group to do something and another group is not allowed to do that same thing. I know it’s a hard concept to grasp, but if you study the history of the civil rights movement you’ll see that it all started because one group of people were allowed to do all of these things, and another group was not. I know it sounds so silly but it’s true, it’s not a conspiracy theory, it actually happened. I know how some of you socialists like to believe nothing in history is how it happened, and that you through your extensive research (some guys blog) you know the real truth and teach that because you have a masters or PHd, but that actually happened and it was called discrimination.

I know, it’s not discrimination because it’s against white people, yes it is. The law does not specify what races are protected under this law, it covers all races socialists.

So let me get this straight now. We have freedom of speech as long as we watch what we say and don’t do it in public were someone might hear. We have freedom of expression as long as that expression is approved by “policing agents” of the socialist party (which use to be called liberal, cause liberal do believe in the constitution, socialists don’t). We have the right to presumption of innocence until proven guilty, unless we are rich white college kids. Pretty soon we’ll have the rights to bear and keep arms, as long as they cannot be reloaded automatically, and discrimination is illegal, except against white straight people. Yeah we sound pretty free to me. The world will not collapse because Don Imus got fired.
However, Don Imus used the radio as a medium to raise millions for cancer, SIDS, and so on.

So, Rex…Dr., while both of you will continue to enjoy your half-caf decaff light latte with a twist at Starbucks while glaring intently at the high-school age counter-girl, there are children and families (people/human beings, btw) who will be demonstratably worse off because Don Imus no longer has a voice on the radio.

Ahhh…the new age of “McSharptonism.” I don’t use that in jest. There are some serious parallels between Sharpton’s comments the past week, and that of one Senator Joe McCarthy in the 1950’s.

Talk Radio hosts around the country, most of whom I loathe for their rabid right-wing views, are very nervous that they are the next to go.

Did race relations improve? Well, the Rutgers team accepted Imus’s apology. So, they improved between the people that mattered the most, even if their Coach is a blatant opportunist who exploited this opportunity so she can get a guest spot, or perhaps permanent spot on “The View.”

I’m obviously upset. Why? Because I thought liberals were more forgiving than this.

If you listen to people like Imus, Michael Savage, Glen Beck and Rush and others, they use words and phrases that contain anti-Semitic, homophobic, racist or sexist language.
