National Review’s Jonah Goldberg.
He may well be able to do it, as he is the second best talker in America after Bill Clinton.
Really? I can’t see it. Not because I find his policy positions odious, but I’ve just found Gingrich to just be middling at best as a public speaker. There are quite a few Republicans even I would rank as better communicators than Gingrich (Romney, Giuliani, and McCain for instance – all horribly wrong idiots but much better communicators than Gingrich).
Since when are Lucianne Jr.’s asinine opinions worth discussing?
Gingrich is second-best? Is that in English or Spanish.
Just so we’re clear, my friends on the right: Mike Huckabee was referring to Newt when he said, “some in the GOP —particularly Christian evangelicals—talk as if, in this election cycle, Republican candidates aren’t going to be held to a standard of personal accountability and responsibility for their personal lives.
“If that’s true, there are going to be a lot of Republicans who will owe Bill Clinton a great big public apology. We can’t have a set of rules that we apply to Democrats that we don’t apply to ourselves.”
ps: When can we officially retire the lie that Jonah Goldberg is a serious commentator?
The guy is an emotionally-stunted 40-year-old frat-boy, and deserves to be treated as such.
The guy is an emotionally-stunted 40-year-old frat-boy…
Give him another 15 years or so and the Republicans will be ready to nominate him for president.
Maybe by then he will be finished with his book, a clarion call for comity and civility in politcal discourse entitled “Liberal Fascism”.
Wasn’t that book supposed to be done, like, a year ago?
ps: When can we officially retire the lie that Jonah Goldberg is a serious commentator?
Maybe when major media outlets quit giving him a platform?
Newter? I think they have “speaking” mixed up with the use of mind manipulating words. Remember, Newt is a hero to the right because he made up the word list for the GOPAC memo. Language control. He showed them how to manipulate minds, got them all involved. That was a key moment in the right’s gaining control of minds.
Some wrongly give credit to Newt for the “revolution” in 1994. That was actually bought and paid for the right’s savior.
Too bad Mike Huckabee will never get the GOP nomination. I like the guy and would vote for him. But Robertson, Dobson and Falwell own the Republican’t party and Huckabee won’t kiss their asses for the nomination.
merlallen, you’re right, which really exposes their hypocrisy since Huckabee is the most legit social conservative in the race.
he is the second best talker in America
I notice with amusement he said “talker” and not “speaker.” There is a distinction there, no?
