Jaysus Oliver, how the hell do you gather so many links at this time of the morning?

I’m out for blood with Drudge.

Matt Drudge Apparently Made Up Story About CNN’s Michael Ware

    Evidence?

  3. Gravatar Icon 3 SpiderJ

    JWG -

Drudge has yet to cite any sources or even offer a quote describing what Ware said.

Have you cross-posted your comment over to Drudge as well?

  4. Gravatar Icon 4 Stoic

You know you can suppress all the link underlines if you change your style code from…

    A {color: #000000;} to

    A {color: #000000; text-decoration: none;}

    Just saying.

Thank you, I will shut up now.

    Hey JWG-
    Did you read the post?
Lots of FUN updates since last nite.

    DRUDGE IS A LIAR.

  6. Gravatar Icon 6 JWG

Drudge has yet to cite any sources or even offer a quote describing what Ware said.

So from now on, any report from a real newspaper that does not name its source and does not provide an exact quote will be considered “apparently made up,” right?

    Can we agree on that?

BTW, the “report” from Drudge says that “Ware is laughing and mocking their comments.” Ware’s response on CNN is that he did not ask McCain any questions. He does not say anything about his behavior.

Did you read the post? Lots of FUN updates since last nite.

And no evidence as of yet to refute what Drudge reported. It could be true or false since there’s no evidence either way.

Drudge should provide a name for his source, but there’s no evidence that he “apparently made up” the story.

It reads like a tabloid piece, so attack it as such.

  8. Gravatar Icon 8 Rex Mundane

So from now on, any report from a real newspaper that does not name its source and does not provide an exact quote will be considered “apparently made up,” right?

Um… shouldn’t it be? I mean if it wont cite sources its as good as a lie, isnt it? Hell thats what I hate about any “News” item, particularly on something like FNC when they just drop “Some people say that Hillary Clinton wants to gring your children into luncheon meat!” on the table, as though random, unnamed people have anything pivotally important to say.

  9. Gravatar Icon 9 Rex Mundane

And no evidence as of yet to refute what Drudge reported. It could be true or false since there’s no evidence either way.

Matt Drudge is not a human, but a human-shaped implement of Satan’s will. I cant prove this, but neither can you or he, so its equally true to its opposite. It could be true or false then, and until he proves that he’s not a tool of Satan I’m entitled to claim that he is.

No wait, thats horseshit, see cause I’m making an extraordinary claim so the onus is on me to back it up, the same way its on Drudge to back up the Ware smear. He cant prove it, cite it, or demonstrate his bizarre claim. The opposite is de facto to be assumed true, that a professional journalist didnt mock, heckle, and laugh at a man giving a speech in Iraq. (Although frankly, given how much McCain’s been on about Iraq being “safe”, I might give a “heh” at the sight of him wearing Kevlar in the Green Zone, proof indeed of how safe things are over there)

  10. Gravatar Icon 10 frameone

I don’t know about the veracity if Drudge’s report but shouldn’t McCain and Graham be mocked for their pathetic piece of political theater? McCain essentially wasted the time and resources of the US military (100 soldiers, three Blackhawk helicopters, and two Apache gunships) to “prove” he isn’t an idiot. He only confirmed the exact opposite. Anyone with a brain would mock this man …

  11. Gravatar Icon 11 midderpidge

“I did not heckle the Senator, indeed I did not say a word. I didn’t even ask a question. In fact, when I raised my hand to ask a question, the press conference abruptly ended. So what I would suggest is that everyone that has any queries about whether I heckled, watch the video tape of the press conference.”

    -Michael Ware.

There should be some video of this incident somewhere to resolve this.

  12. Gravatar Icon 12 midderpidge

“[I]t didn’t take the insurgents long to send their reply. Less then 30 minutes after McCain wrapped up, a barrage of half a dozen mortars peppered the boundaries of the Green Zone, where the senators held their press conference.”

Maybe that’s the heckling Drudge was reporting.

  13. Gravatar Icon 13 Dr. Anatole Gavage-Huskanoy

Nice, Midderpidge. John McCain deserves mockery because he’s delusional. It’s that simple, trolls.

  14. Gravatar Icon 14 JWG

John McCain deserves mockery because he’s delusional.

Well, the claims of mockery are both “apparently made up” and deserved. You’ve got all the bases covered! Liberal logic in action.

Bush Skipping Baseball Opening Day, I Bet It’s The Boos

    ….OR….

He knows that if he did go, folks like Oliver would say “http://www.oliverwillis.com/2007/03/items_listed_in.html“ rel=”nofollow”>Why are you going to a baseball game? There’s a war on!”

I mean, if Oliver even read the article, he’d have seen this:

But he missed last year’s home opener — and he’ll miss today’s, too, when the Nationals host the Florida Marlins at 1:05 p.m. Except for when the world was at war, only two other presidents, Woodrow Wilson and Richard M. Nixon, missed Opening Day ceremonies two years in a row.

    There’s your answer.

  16. Gravatar Icon 16 frameone

“…the claims of mockery are both “apparently made up” and deserved. You’ve got all the bases covered! Liberal logic in action.”

Yes, of course, it’s liberals covering their asses no matter how the facts “break.”

What a convenient dodge you have their yourself, JWG. Drudge, McCain and the rest of the right wing noise machine are caught out in the middle of executing yet another manufactured controversy as cover for McCain’s completely laughable act of political theater in Iraq and all you can do is attack liberals for telling you the truth.

You’ve certainly got your priorities straight.

    What an idiot.

  17. Gravatar Icon 17 midderpidge

I guess Bush missed opening day in 2003 and 2004 then SaveFarris. Oh, back to the drawingboard with you.

  18. Gravatar Icon 18 Duros62

To you it’s a war. To everyone else, it’s an occupation.

  19. Gravatar Icon 19 Dr. Anatole Gavage-Huskanoy

Drudge’s “heckling” assertion story is no longer on the main page. Will he retract?

  20. Gravatar Icon 20 Duros62

No, he’ll just pretend it never happened.

  21. Gravatar Icon 21 SpiderJ

Do you have evidence that it happened?
