Tancredomentum!
Bay Buchanan has left CNN to join the campaign of the hateful and bigoted anti-immigrant Tom Tancredo, the only Republican in the field honestly reflecting his party’s stance against Hispanics.

One time I had the opportunity to ask Bay Buchanan in a public forum this question: “How much worse would the country have to become in order for your brother to become electable?” She did not have an intelligible response. It was a fine moment of which I am still proud.
Huh? “hateful, bigoted, anti-immigrant?”
Bigoted toward whom? (Other that illegal immigrants.)
Certainly not hispanics, considering his chief of staff and assistant are hispanic.
You got anything else?
(I know you rely on the argument stopping use of the term “bigot” or “racist” but there are just some times when you need to do better.)
Funny thing about Tancredo is that he’s a classic example of being a poor advocate for ideas that one could have a reasonable discussion about. He simply can’t learn to choose his words properly.
You want to discuss illegal immigration strictly in terms of the actual act of immigrating illegally, that’s great. But don’t show up at rallies hosted by Confederate nostalgists and then call Miami a “Third World country,” because then you’re going to look like a racist.
I actually agree with his recent comments on abolishing race-based House caucuses, although I think it’s something that will take more time and social progress to be a reality. I’m still ticked off at the Black Caucus for throwing their support behind William Jefferson for seemingly no reason save his race.
