The Politico Stumbles Big Time
Tweet
Perhaps if the Politicos correspondents spent less time on their knees sucking up to Matt Drudge and slagging Democrats and more time reporting they wouldn’t look so dumb.

Why do they look dumb? Ben Smith had had a source in Edwards campaign. He wrote it on his blog and then set the record straight when it was shown to be wrong. What is the big deal?
Yet you say it happened because Mike Allen was on Drudge’s radio show. That’s dumb dude.
Thanks OW for bringing this up. Politico is beginning to look like Townhall.com.
And to Jay, Politico didn’t know anything, so they made it up just to get a story out there and pimp it everywhere.
In this case, Politico got busted. And it should have been.
They blasted the story all around as if it were a concrete fact. It’s sloppy.
Obviously these guys wannabe the next Drudge.
All Drudge needed was to be right on one big scoop ten years ago for him to “rule the world” of MSM mountebanks like David Halperin, empty hairdos who lack the diligence to do any real reporting and the character to resist peddling national-inquirer-quality sleaze.
One big scoop, and it doesn’t matter how many hundreds of things he gets horribly wrong before of since.
So these drudges-in-waiting will keep throwing out ill-researched, poorly-sourced mud until some of it sticks.
That’s journalism these days.
And to Jay, Politico didn’t know anything, so they made it up just to get a story out there and pimp it everywhere.
Right. So they reported a story they made up out of thin air knowing it was false.
The did this because…..?
Amazing this is coming from a bunch who drooled and happily milked the “Rove To Be Indicted” nonsense when it wasn’t even close to the truth.
Heal thyself guys.
What will it take for Jay to admit when an anti-Democrat news outlet makes a mistake? Will they have to kill a kitten?

First of all, I find it amusing that a blogger on Politico whose favorite blogs are almost all left wing liberals is part of some “anti-Democrat news outlet.”
Second of all, they admitted they made a mistake.
Third, your correlation between that and Mike Allen’s appearance on the Drudge radio show is just plain freaking dumb.
I read more con blogs than liberal ones by prolly a 10-1 ratio, does that make me a con?
Yes, they admitted a mistake – after trumpeting the scoop endlessly based on one source.
It’s a pattern, a pattern of slavish devotion to right wing media outlets and the invention of propaganda to attack Democrats with.

Do you have prominently have links to all those con blogs on your roll. Answer: No. You have links to a bunch of liberal blogs. Don’t get cute.

Yeah, and? You say that as if this was the first time a media outlet made an error.
It’s a pattern, a pattern of slavish devotion to right wing media outlets and the invention of propaganda to attack Democrats with.
Quoting a source as saying that John Edwards is going to drop out of the 2008 Presidential race is propaganda and an attack now?
Get a grip man.
Again, going back to the beginning. You’re attempting to correlate this with Mike Allen appearing on Drudge’s radio show and that is just stupid because one has nothing to do with the other.
