I don’t how many climatologists there are, but I do know that they are not in unanimous agreement about CO2 caused global warming. Some, and again I don’t know how many, are saying that it is the sun that is contributing to global warming — to a greater degree than CO2.

I was suggesting that Wilbur check and see if the “vast majority” of scientists believe in CO2 – generated global warming.

Again, the issue is how much of the current small spike increase is manmade and how much is not. And whether its temporary or permanent. Global warming enthusiasts say permanent and all or almost all is manmade. Doubters ask why this little spike can’t be another of the many historical spikes in warming – having almost nothing to do with CO2 or human factors.

The Mars question is very valid in this context. The sun is getting hotter. Earth warms a little. Mars warms a little. Hmmmm. Nope, better move along. That science is settled. Spread the soot on the ice caps. No. Sorry. That was the earlier settled science per Newsweek and Time. Get rid of all autos!

Note Feynman’s “cargo cult” speech was aimed at social vice empirical sciences. Social science metrics are difficult to develop and accurately measure. Modeling in the social sciences is virtually impossible.

OTOH, there is no shortage of data WRT climate change and we can model climate variances with a fairly good degree of fidelity.

The fact remains no global warming skeptic or denier can refute the existing evidence. So, when you see Inhofe holding up a picture of icicles and saying ‘Where’s the global warming?’–it’s really the best the deniers can do from a ’scientific’ perpective.

I made a similar point a few weeks ago. All you lefties act like wannabe cynics and skeptics when it comes to anything Republican, or anything to do with the military.
