  1. Duros62 says:

And we’re the ones who enable terr’ists and hate freedom? And Democracy? And America?

    Sheesh.

Did he say he talked John Wilkes Booth into shooting Lincoln, too?

  2. SpiderJ says:

It’s not even a question of left or right wing kooks here, it’s a question of pride. After all, the left can’t deny the uproar over comments lamenting Cheney’s near-death experience in Afghanistan (which was shocking, I tell you, because clearly we had fixed that place before going into Iraq).

What’s different, of course, is the self-policing. The offending comments at HuffPost were taken down. The comments at LGF will be proudly be displayed forever.

  3. Jet says:

The hypocrisy of the “Party of Life”, yet again.

  4. Duros62 says:

Will there be an equivalence of outrage as there was over the HuffPo hoo-ha? Will Rush and O’rly publicly condemn such remarks by anonymous blog commenters?

    I’m holding my breath..

  5. fd10801 says:

The link won’t open, so I can’t be certain who said what. But what I found at LGF indicates that this is yet another “Oliver special”: A smear based on the comments of a few people out of hundreds on a conservative blog.

  6. Rex Mundane says:

A smear based on the comments of a few people out of hundreds on a conservative blog.

Excuse me, Mr. Kettleblack? a Mr. Pot is calling on line one.

  7. JWG says:

How many comments survived the Huffington purge? If it was only a few people, there should be hundreds left, no?

  8. michael says:

A conservative blog which is known for, among other things:

intently monitoring its comments to quickly delete any they disagree with, and

reconfiguring its links so anyone who links to them disapprovingly is directed to a non-working page.

  9. fd10801 says:

Rex: Having survived the wounds of your trenchant humor, I can only ask, “On which blog have I smeared anyone based on a few comments out of hundreds?”

  10. Rex Mundane says:

I found this in a minute where you say all liberals blame America for everything based on NG pointing out that Saddam operated with US support, and was going to find more when I realized that you would just claim that doing that isn’t a smear, that NG isnt actually human, that my providing evidence doesnt prove anything, and that I’m immature and therefore beneath you. You will not be reasoned with Frank, and it is wrong of you to suggest otherwise is the case.

  11. SpiderJ says:

After being admonished on another thread about how Democrats are in constant “lockstep,” I await the shining example of conservatives to show me how one speaks out against their own camp when they make stupid and ugly comments like those being espoused at LGF.

    Have at thee.

  12. Duros62 says:

*gasp* Still holding my breath over here.

  13. fd10801 says:

Wrong again, Rex. I knew you would find at least one instance where I attributed some negative quality or other to liberals. There have been many.

However, no one responds by saying, “That is not representative of liberals,” or “I’m a liberal, and I’m here to tell you I don’t believe that.”

In other words, there aren’t any liberals (or anyone, for that matter) denying the things I attribute to liberals. If there were, I might think twice about continuing the practice. After all, when someone says something about me that isn’t true, I say so.

Spider: What is it with you liberals and repudiation? I didn’t make the remarks. Neither did the other 300 plus — or was it 400 plus? — commenters at LGF. What should I say? “It’s not nice to wish that someone would be assassinated”?

OK, fine. It’s not nice to wish that someone would be assassinated. People who say that are bad.

You can all relax now — justice has been served.

  14. Nimrod Gently says:

So the difference is you’re right and everyone else is wrong?

  15. Rex Mundane says:

However, no one responds by saying, “That is not representative of liberals.”

That is not representative of liberals.

In other words, there aren’t any liberals (or anyone, for that matter) denying the things I attribute to liberals.

Everything you have said about liberals (everything in general really) is demonstrably false, and based on your own prejudices which deny all evidence to the contrary. Including this statement, as people have told you as much before. Refusing to hear people who tell you that you are wrong does not make you de facto correct.

What is it with you liberals and repudiation? I didn’t make the remarks… What should I say?

How about a corrolary?: “Conservatives that dont attack LGF for the commenters in that site have no right to attack Arriana Huffington for the comments on her site.” Such a statement would of course render most conservative argument null though, which would be tricky business next time Sean Hannity wants to bloviate about Obama based on what Harry Bellafonte says.

  16. Randy in Baltimore says:

Rex, by now you should realize the futility of waging an intellectual gunfight with a man who’s armed only with a broken water pistol…

  17. fd10801 says:

Rex, don’t play games with me.
When I have, in the past, made statements about lefties and liberals, no one has said that they, as lberals, did not espouse such beliefs.
No one said that the behavior or beliefs I attributed to liberals may have been attributable to other liberals, but not to them.

Of course, people have disagreed with me, and indulged in a fairly immoderate amount of insults and name calling in the process. I’m sure you’re aware of the name calling and insult portion of the process (You once even suggested I eat dick, when I was banned, as you put it, “For old times sake.”

I don’t go in for that “I want somebody to repudiate that statement” nonsense. Why? Because I don’t believe it is incumbent upon B to repudiate A for his remarks.

    I’ve never done it.

I believed Spider felt it was important for a conservative to criticize those commenters who (apparently) wished harm to Presidents Carter and Clinton. So I did.

Need I add that I have no control over the things said by Sean Hannity?

  18. fd10801 says:

Rex: For an example of a flagrantly gratuitous insult, see Randy in Baltimore’s comment of Mar 15, 2007 5:55:30 PM.

Of course, if I respond, I will be descended upon by outraged commenters on my lack of civility.

  19. Sundown says:

Um, yes, fd, we have in fact contradicted your words. The fact that we may not do so in the syntax you’d prefer doesn’t stop that.

The fact remains, despite what you would want to think, you aren’t the determiner of truth. If you say that I eat kittens when in fact I don’t, your comment is so outrageous and untrue that it’s not even worth the bandwidth to play your game and say, “no, fd10801, in point of fact I do not eat kittens”.

  20. fd10801 says:

    sundown: Um, no, you haven’t.

  21. Wilbur says:

OK, fine. It’s not nice to wish that someone would be assassinated. People who say that are bad.

Do you have the balls to say that on some place like LGF, Frank?

If so, do it and send us the link. I’ll be the first to give you a high five.

If not, go away and stop wasting our time.

  22. fd10801 says:

Wilbur, didn’t somebody already say that they don’t allow comments like that?

I’ll be the first to give you a high five.
Great. That and two dollars will get me on the Subway.

  23. fd10801 says:

BTW,Wilbur, I made a quick visit to LGF (you know important I think it is to please you)

    Unregistered comments are currently: DISABLED.

    Sorry.

  24. Nimrod Gently says:

    Always are.

So register, they’ll like you there.

  25. Duros62 says:

You can run and frolic with your own kind!

    Just kidding, Frank. =)

  26. Wilbur says:

    What Nimrod said, Frank.

Plus, notice that I said “sites like LGF”. Any wingnut site will do. redstate, nicedoggie, wizbang. Take your pick.

Otherwise we’ll just put you down for “no balls.”

Great. That and two dollars will get me on the Subway.

Well up yours, thou oral inspectors of donational equids thou. If you don’t want a high-five how about this: I will refrain from accusing you of being a hypocrite, and will defend you against anyone who accuses you of being a hypocrite on ow.com for a period of one month (renewable upon each confirmed ballsy post to a wingnut website).

Otherwise, you’re a no-ball hypocrite. No two ways about it.

  27. fd10801 says:

Wilbur, after all the things Kos and DU have said in the past, if you think I’m going to mosey over to some right wing blog and make an off topic statement about the meanies at LGF, you’re out of your mind.

So the same people who have called me a dick, asked me to eat dick, called me dickless, called me an “old fuck”, called me an idiot, a bitter old man, and much, much worse, will think I have no balls.

    Yeah, that’ll hurt.
    Riiiiight

  28. Nimrod Gently says:

Actually, the dick thing has been mostly Duros and Rex as far as I can tell.

Besides which, you can dish it out well enough. Frankie No-Bollocks.

  29. Wilbur says:

Offer stands, Frank, though I’m not too worried about having to honor it. I’m pretty sure you haven’t got the balls to take me up on it.

  30. fd10801 says:

You can stop now, Wilbur. What are you going to do next? Double dog dare me?

  31. vwcat says:

    Yes, the killer rabbit…

  32. jimmmm says:

About time Carter got his. He is, after all, history’s greatest monster.

  33. SaveFarris says:

So Greenwald thinks that commenters on a particular site are indicative of the movement at large?

Well, I guess he took the HuffPo to task over the comments wishing for Dick Cheney’s death. Right? Right?!?

    Greenwald is a HACK.

  34. fd10801 says:

There you go, Wilbur… Here’s your opportunity to prove you have balls ..
Head on over to HuffPo and voice your disapproval of the Cheney “death comments”…

  35. SpiderJ says:

The Cheney death comments were disapproved of and then TAKEN DOWN. The LGF hate will likely remain and proudly so.

Do the LGFers scratch their heads, however, that their great Bush the Lionhearted wasn’t even mentioned as an assassination target?

  36. Rex Mundane says:

SaveFerris: So Greenwald thinks that commenters on a particular site are indicative of the movement at large?

I’ve checked twice. He doesnt say that anywhere. You’re lying to yourself so you can masturbate to your own indignance. Please stop.

The article really seems to be about they hypocrasy of LGF as a community, not for making these comments, but for demanding that when arguably similar comments appeared on Huffington that they be taken down, stirring up controversy about a few random people who were then marginalized (rightly so) and then when similar comments appear on LGF, they remain up, even when the controversy is brought up and Charles J has the authority to remove them and doesnt. As ever, its a crime against humanity when it happens at HuffPo, but of course IOKIYAR.

  37. Nimrod Gently says:

You certainly seem to have something against actually sticking your neck out, Frank McBallfree.

Farris, Glenn Greenwald is about 57×10 to the 20 times you will ever be. Particularly since you accuse him of hackery with a link that actually does everything you say it doesn’t, plus contains some of the most insightful and intelligent writing on any side of the political spectrum.

Ants calling tigers losers. Sure, as an ant you’re safe, but that’s essentially because you’re so completely insignificant it takes a conscious effort to notice you.

  38. Nimrod Gently says:

I missed out “the commentator” between “times” and “you” there.

  39. Duros62 says:

Actually, the dick thing has been mostly Duros and Rex as far as I can tell.

Ohh, nonono. I never told Frank to eat dick. Not once not ever. I said “Eat Franks, dick” once, but that was accompanied by a picture of some hot dogs.

    I think you meant S.

Not me. No sir. that’d be mean.
    Carry on.

  40. Duros62 says:

Any word on Rush or Bill? Did they speak out against the Redhate?

  41. fd10801 says:

I knew that, Duros. Nimrod is beyond help.

Nimrod: You wanker. Not taking some stranger’s dare is hardly cowardly. Talk to me about sticking your neck out after you’ve spent four years in the Army, including a tour in Vietnam that was longer than the French looking John Kerry’s.

  42. SpiderJ says:

How strange that one should use “French looking” as an attack on John Kerry’s Vietnam service, considering that the French were the people who had occupied Vietnam in the first place–something America, actually, never managed to do.

  43. Duros62 says:

    French looking John Kerry’s

    Bwahahahahaha!

  44. Nimrod Gently says:

He’s not asking you to cross the Mekong or anything. Just express a slightly nuanced viewpoint on LGF and see what happens. You do seem surprisingly resistant to such an idea.

  45. fd10801 says:

NG: I don’t believe in fools’ errands at the behest at other fools.

  46. SpiderJ says:

Is it just me, or do all of Frank’s witty retorts sound like he pulled them out of fortune cookies?

  47. fd10801 says:

    SpiderJ: It’s just you…

  48. Frank's Mom's Cooch says:

Please remember that Frank is the kind of coward who talks a good game, but never actually follows through; your taunts are probably making him feel worthless.

  49. Nimrod Gently says:

    It isn’t.

  50. Nimrod Gently says:

    It isn’t.

  51. fd10801 says:

    “Frank’s Mom’s Cooch”?
I never knew something could be disgusting and infantile at the same time.
If you’re truly interested in my Mom’s cooch, I can tell you where she’s buried.

  52. Zython says:

If you’re truly interested in my Mom’s cooch, I can tell you where she’s buried.

You would know, you hid the body yourself.

And poor wilbur, of course geezer-boy won’t take up your offer. It’s SO much easier to feign moral superiority while silently agreeing with those that spread hate rather than stand up for what’s right.

  53. fd10801 says:

zython: The reincarnation of “s”. Nothing to talk about but me…
I find it amusing that the very guys talking about courage, don’t even have the courage to let anyone know their real names!
    It is to laugh.

  54. Nimrod Gently says:

“S” has plenty of things to talk about, you’re just so self obsessed you don’t notice.

It’s not cowardice that makes us use psuedonyms, it’s just an inherent mistrust of the Internet, which you have to admit is fairly rational.

  55. fd10801 says:

Yes, NG, rational, paranoid… and cowardly.

  56. S says:

To clarify, if you choose to publish personal information (e.g. last year, you published your street address while challenging someone to visit you so you could demonstrate to him “what a punk he was”) and we choose not to, we’re cowardly and paranoid?

  57. fd10801 says:

Gee, “s”, I thought (hoped, wish fervently?) that you were dead…

BTW, the answer to your stupid question is “Yes”.

Since you chose to rehash that old — and, boy, do I mean old story, why not reprint my address?

Seems to me, I recall that a few people suggested that I was quite mad for publishing such valuable information about myself. I answered then, as I do now, no one did anything with the information.

Which is why I reiterate — you, and all the other punks like you, are paranoid and cowardly.

There, now I’ve made the point three times. Anyone want to ask Oliver why he prints his name on the Internet?

    Gawd, you guys are dense.

  58. S says:

Thank you for the clarification, Frank.

  59. Zython says:

Yes, NG, rational, paranoid… and cowardly.

You’ve never seen an internet message board before, have you? No one uses their real name as their user name.

And if you’re so goddamned “brave”, put your money where your mouth is and post the following:

    1. Your social security number
    2. You credit card information (expiration date, type, security code if applicable, etc)

zython: The reincarnation of “s”. Nothing to talk about but me…

Seeing as how, among all the conservative trolls here, you post the most often, it’s kinda hard not to. Basically, don’t flatter yourself.

Seems to me, I recall that a few people suggested that I was quite mad for publishing such valuable information about myself. I answered then, as I do now, no one did anything with the information.

So…your arguement is that we’re not sociopaths? Wow, I feel so hurt [/rolleye].

  60. S says:

    Zython | Mar 18, 2007 5:12:13 PM
“Seeing as how, among all the conservative trolls here, you post the most often, it’s kinda hard not to.”

I tried explaining this last year. It didn’t make any difference.

There are some threads where Frank is virtually every second or third response although he and pedugger were very quiet for days/weeks after last November’s midterm elections. That made for peaceful and enjoyable reading.

  61. fd10801 says:

No one uses their real name as their user name.

So? Maybe they’re all paranoid and cowardly. My name is known, but I don’t use it on this blog, do I? (You are idiotic enough to think so, but my real name is not fd10801).

And if you’re so goddamned “brave”
You may not know the difference between foolish and brave — you seem not to know much of anything (like “s”, you think talking about me is commenting) — but I do.

s: As I have explained to you on many an occasion, you are a worthless piece of shit.

  62. S says:

And I could freaking care less, Frank. :-)

  63. fd10801 says:

s: If you don’t care that you’re a worthless piece of shit, I certainly don’t.

  64. Zython says:

So? Maybe they’re all paranoid and cowardly. My name is known, but I don’t use it on this blog, do I? (You are idiotic enough to think so, but my real name is not fd10801).

Why the hell do you think I call you “Frankie” then?

You may not know the difference between foolish and brave — you seem not to know much of anything (like “s”, you think talking about me is commenting) — but I do.

And, like I pointed out, there’s no “bravery” in using your real name when posting comments on the internet, just foolish.

  65. fd10801 says:

Why the hell do you think I call you “Frankie” then?
    I don’t know — a bad guess, maybe?

  66. Zython says:

    I don’t know — a bad guess, maybe?

So, you’re saying that you were lying when you said that you were Frank_D before you changed your handle? Gotcha.

  67. fd10801 says:

Zython: No, you nitwit! What I said was that my name is not Frankie.

  68. S says:

Frank DiSalle … his postcode is 10801. He reveals personal information on OW’s blog and then goes ballistic if anyone comments on anything he mentions.
