Giuliani Pal & Partner Bernard Kerik May Be Indicted

This is the man Republican presidential front-runner Rudy Giuliani thought was right to be the top person in charge of Homeland Security for the entire United States of America.

Scandal-scarred former top cop Bernard Kerik turned down a deal with federal prosecutors that offered him less than two years in jail in return for a guilty plea to tax fraud, The Post has learned.

Kerik – NYPD commissioner under Rudy Giuliani, who recommended him for Homeland Security secretary in 2004 – rejected the deal when it was offered in the last few weeks, a law-enforcement source said yesterday.

The case involves gifts Kerik received while in office, his Homeland Security application, a mortgage application and tax returns.

I don’t just question Giuliani’s judgment of character, this flat-out disqualifies him for the job of president.

All of this, of course, increases his chances of becoming the Republican nominee. You see, there’s a conspiracy of the MSM and the pinko federal prosecutors, and they’re out to get real men like Bernie Kerik, and Abu Gonzalez is trying to stop them.

Sounds like a case for Fred Thompson.

Just one skeleton in the super size Giuliani closet.

And I’m certain in your ripe youth that you were calling for President Clinton to step down considering Webb Hubbell was an assistant Attorney General for the United States and wound up spending 21 months in prison for fraud. It’s always a good idea to put a guy in such a position who was busy bilking clients and partners out of thousands of dollars.

Oh wait. I forgot. For many liberals, history started on January 21, 2001. No need to concern themselves with double standards because they’ve had their minds erased prior to the above date.

I don’t just question Giuliani’s judgment of character, this flat-out disqualifies him for the job of president.

I mean really. This has to be one of the silliest things you’ve ever written. Kerik was involved in wrongdoing and yet this somehow disqualifies Giuliani from being President?

Sorry, but its hard for me to make my way through that maze of ‘logic’ if that’s what it can be called.

    Shorter Jay:

“Anything wrong a Republican does is okay, because Clinton had s-e-x.”

  6. fd10801 says:

Clinton had sex with Webb Hubbell?

  7. michael says:

History didn’t start on 1/21/2001, but the last six years have been a stark crash course on what happens when you give important positions to crooks or incompetent boobs, just because you’re friends with them.

  8. Jay says:

Who said it was okay Jiminy Cricket? It’s the double standards that get me. What is “outrageous”, “horrible” and “terrible” today was “no big deal”, “business as usual”, and “perfectly acceptable” yesterday.

  9. Fred Thompson says:

Fred Thompson’s campaign can start with a declaration on L&O as the DA, and personally prosecutes the both of them.

That way he can blur the line between his character and himself.

  10. Duros62 says:

Yesterday was yesterday. It’s not a double standard, Jay. What Web did was wrong. I’m not saying that all democrats are squeaky clean and get a pass no matter what. There are plenty of asshats to go around. But, you know, note to Rudy; don’t appoint crooks and cronies until AFTER you get the job. Neocon 101.

  11. Jay says:

Duros, ok then. Let’s talk about today. Clearly, Hillary Clinton had some influence in getting Webb Hubbell that job as an associate Attorney General since they were both partners at the Rose Law Firm.

Will Oliver say here that it disqualifies her for the job of President? After all, Hubbell spent time in prison for similar charges.

  12. Duros62 says:

Is there clear evidence of said influence? Like a letter of recommendation or something?
Personally, I think there’s a lot of stuff that disqualifies Hillary from the Presidency.

  13. Wilbur says:

I’d agree with Duros and say the converse in the case of Rudy:

His championing of Kerik is revealing, and embarrassing, but doesn’t, in itself, disqualify him for the presidency.

There’s plenty of other stuff that does that.
