Multiple Choice Mitt Romney may have decided to throw around some of his considerable money in order to shut up the right-wing pressure groups who decide the GOP nomination.
Last December, a foundation controlled by Mr. Romney made contributions of $10,000 to $15,000 to each of three Massachusetts organizations associated with major national conservative groups: the antiabortion Massachusetts Citizens for Life, Massachusetts Citizens for Limited Taxation and the Christian conservative Massachusetts Family Institute.
Mr. Romney and a group of his supporters also contributed a total of about $10,000 to a nonprofit group affiliated with National Review. Over the past two years, he contributed $35,000 to the Federalist Society, an influential network of conservative lawyers. And in December 2005, he contributed $25,000 to the Heritage Foundation, a leading conservative research organization.
Hello Mr. Willis,
Interesting question about any candidate BUYING their nomination to become the Republican candidate for president.
Without spending millions for advertising and keeping Condi in the polls or buying support, http://www.thinkcondi.net is proud to be part of the national movement to promote Condi Rice into the Oval Office.
Did you know that for the past 2 years, Secretary of State Condi Rice has been in the top tier choice in national polls? She has tied Rudy and McCain at 20% in past polls like Marist, Zogby, Quinnipiac and others. These polls show clearly that when asked if Condi should run, or if she was the candidate, whether they would support her. The answer has been YES.
The latest Zogby of Feb. 2007 shows:
Rudy 29%
McCain 20%
Romney 9%
Condi 7%
Newt 7%
All of this support for Condi is because of who she IS rather than who she is married to and she could become like other Cabinet members of previous presidents who held the Oval Office. The number of Cabinet members who have done this is 10, the number of Senator who have been elected while serving in their office is only 2.
The hardline Republicans who support President Bush want a candidate who will stand shoulder to shoulder with him to defend our nation.
Condi Rice has the skills and the experience to be the American version of Margaret Thatcher.

You must be an absolute idiot if you think a measly 10-35 thousand dollars is going to buy a society’s vote and support. Perhaps Mitt Romney donated to those groups because he supports their causes. Wow, what a concept! However I suppose that this accusation is coming from a left-wing wacko such as yourself shouldn’t be a surprise. Dems. have been buying the minority and union votes for so long (with a lot more than a few thousand dollars) that they have forgotten that some people get their votes the old-fashioned way – by EARNING them.
Yes, run Condi run.
She probably has the shoes for it.

Don’t call a pack of lies research; if you want to be polite, call it propaganda.
Condi is the least distinguished Secretary of State in a generation.
so yes, go Condi!
Hell yeah, I can support a Rice ticket. She is the perfect poster child for Republican’t incompetence. I’ll even register as a Republican’t and vote for her in the primaries.
If there’s anything the Mormons hold holy, it’s $$$$$; the Almightly Dollar. Nothing is more important.
