Elizabeth Edwards on Voldermort

Amen to her

Although her words did not hurt us, they may have hurt some in the gay community. We are all sick and tired of anyone supporting or applauding or introducing hate words into the national dialogue, tired of people thinking that words that cause others pain are fair game. And we are sick and tired of people like Miss Coulter thinking that her use of loaded words about the homosexual community in this country is remotely humorous or appropriate.

Ms. Edwards’ response is note-perfect. Ms. Coulter would be wise to avoid a war of words with someone that classy.

Elizabeth Edwards has been the target of attacks herself, and knows all too well what it’s like.

Benny’s World blog addresses this further with excerpts from EE’s book. Normally, I don’t promote my blog here, but after reading your post a couple of notches above, it’s important to point out that the RWN is not about civility. It’s about intimidation, which they support.

Thanks, OW, for noticing EE’s comment. She’s on the mark.

“We are all sick and tired of anyone supporting or applauding or introducing hate words into the national dialogue…”

Funny, that sentiment was curiously missing when her husband hired two bloggers known for their liberal use of profanity and words like “christofascist” and “jeebus” when referring to Christianity.

That’s what passes for “hate words” now, Mike?

Mike, the bloggers in your post made their own statements on their own blogs, not Edwards’ blog (and never did), before Edwards hired them. They realized they were better off as ardent feminists and activists and left the campaign staff. OW had it on the mark that some bloggers are better off as activists.

Edwards said at the time he thought they meant no harm to the general public. However, they were better off being on their own blogs, and not part of the campaign. They left.

Remember, they weren’t on C-SPAN as Coulter was, therefore, it was folks like RWN and yourself who remember them. Therefore, they weren’t as public as you are presenting. Coulter should go into rehab for her comments, as she and her ilk are distributors of pure hate.
