Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, Ann Coulter: Three Peas In A Pod
Appearing on the same stage at the CPAC convention as Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani and other Republican presidential candidates, Ann Coulter again spoke the words conservatives would say if they were telling us what they really believe:
“I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word ‘faggot,’ so I — so kind of an impasse, can’t really talk about Edwards.”
This is the sort of gutter trash and swine candidates like Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney associate themselves with. This is the “base” of conservative politics and the Republican party. This is what they believe, these are their mantras.
Want proof Romney endorses this sort of rhetoric? During his speech Think Progress is reporting that he said: “I am happy to hear that after you hear from me, you will hear from Ann Coulter. That is a good thing.”
A good thing indeed.

While Democrats and Republicans may disagree on the issues, we should all be able to agree that this kind of vile rhetoric is out of bounds. Republicans — including the Republican presidential candidates who shared the podium with Ann Coulter today — should denounce her hateful remarks.”

WHERE IS FARK?!
Ive got a theory. Ann’s got a habit of repeating a meaningless meme repeatedly just before she puts a book out that basically just repeats all the meaningless drivel she vomits up on the cable talk shows. Before Treason it was all about how liberals are traitors to America, and before Godless it was all about how horrible those Godless liberals are who think science should be taught in science class and we ought not disembowel homosexuals publically. This, plus her foaming a few months ago about how Bill Clinton is a “latent homosexual” and Al Gore a “total Fag” leads me to the only logical conclusion, and I’ll bet anyone $20 on it. Within a year we will see the Crown Forum Books publication of:
QUEERS
The Horribly Disgusting Truth Behind Liberal Faggotry
-By Ann Coulter-
Because honestly, what other petty childish name does she have left to call them? Seriously, I’m putting money on it. Takers?
This was right after she a) was introduced by Mitt Romney; b) praised by Mitt Romney, and c) endorsed Mitt Romney. Coulter was then cheered and applauded by the movement conservatives present at the Conservative Political Action Conference.
Very simply, this incident further shows that Ann Coulter is some marginal conservative voice. She is at the heart of the modern conservative movement, and is adored by its members. You cannot separate the two.
NOT some marginal conservative voice, that is.
I don’t want to hear about the Left’s© incivility again.
If I wanna say Fuck, I’ll say fuck. Calling national figures faggots in a national forum is over the line.
Right-wingers? What say you?
Who will be the first to defend or denounce she who shall not be named?
I hope Media Matters put this on their long file of the Queen of Mean.
Given her love of George W Bush, I have to think she just meant he seems very presidential.
I’ve said a million times in these threads that Coulter is pathetic. This is just another example. What’s sad is that Republican candidates don’t condemn her. OW is right that it shows a negative side to Republicans that they associate with her.
You mean some conservatives (myself included) can’t stand her?
Maybe this is why McCain snubbed the group? Maybe he knew someone like her would throw some verbal trash.
I’ve said this before, but the right-wing mask is coming COMPLETELY off.
That IS the right-wing of this country. Hateful, racist, homophobic, anti-intellectuals that revel in spreading misery to their “enemies”. And they do it all under the guise of “christianity”.
And you will see NO right wing television/radio host or blogger denounce her because they APPROVE of it. Just as you will never see them discourage or denounce the eventual acts of violence by right-wingers.
Ok, that’s 2 against. But we haven’t heard a peep from Pedugger on this issue.
Funny how they both go awol when something like this comes up.
That’s it, Annie. The gloves are officially off. The referee is knocked out cold on the ringside concrete. In other words, no holds barred.
[censored by Oliver]
That’s a word I don’t like to use. However, I can’t think of any other epithet strong enough to describe this worm-brained maggot.
I’ll say it again: [censored by Oliver]
And if Jay, Pedro, and any of the other rightie apologists don’t like it…well, the same applies to them and their respective mothers.
You mean they weren’t off when you were throwing around the n-word?
Yeah, we’re all shocked[/sarcasm] that you’d use these words and claim you don’t like to use them. In reality, they seem to appear in your comments quite regularly.
Personally, I find it amazing that people like Ann Coulter aren’t more regularly the target of violent crime. She’s practically begging to be beaten to death with a broken-off table leg.
I also wonder how much of her schtick is actually a joke. Not ha-ha funny, of course… but can any human being alive really be this cartoonish? I think that Colbert ripped off her idea, and implemented it in an O’Reilly-esque show.
He’s black. There are subtleties.
“Quite regularly”?
Cite, asshole. The n-word once, and one previous allusion to the c-word. That don’t sound like “quite regularly” to me.
Don’t like it when I call Coulter what she is? That’s too damn bad.
Oh…and doesn’t her insinuation of Edwards’ sexual orientation qualify as slander? You know, as in the title of one of her books?
I agree with your sentiment, but please don’t use that word here.
“Ok, that’s 2 against.”
Ya, two anonymous dipshits on a blog thread. How about Romney and Giuliani?
Will Hannity or O’Reilly reprimand Coulter or will they have her on their shows to “debate” how evil liberal political correctness is? How will Rush chuckle his way through this news item tomorrow? “Did you hear what Ann Coulter said about the Breck Girl?”
The “conservative movement” is nothing but a bunch of scumbags.
Well, at least twice…but I won’t cite it since OW has already addressed it.
And here we go with Nimrod defending the n-word again. Same ‘ol, same ‘ol.
Evidently, Malkin has on her blog. That’s at least one.
Apologies, OW. I’ll go back to allusions.
But Coulter is STILL an extremely offensive person, and must be denounced in the strongest possible terms.
Wow, are you guys scared of Rudy, or what?
you will see NO right wing television/radio host or blogger denounce her
Evidently, Malkin has on her blog. That’s at least one.
From Malkin: “She said she would refrain from commenting on Edwards because ‘if you say faggot, you have to go to rehab.’ A smattering of laughter. Not from this corner. Crickets chirping. Flashback: Last year’s bomb about ‘ragheads.’”
I dont read that as denouncing her for saying it, I dont even see it as saying that Coulters anti-faggot anti-raghead views are a bad thing. All she’s willing to say, the harshest and most poignant commment she can deliver, is that she didnt personally find the joke funny.
Mann Coulter, up to his usual self projection and self loathing.
If ‘faggot’ is a derogatory term for a male who acts like a female, what is the derogatory term for a female who acts like a male?
maggot?
Just askin.
kudos to JWG. Here’s hoping that the rest of the semi-reasonable side of wingnuttia realizes what an embarrassment Coulter and her ilk are.
now THAT is the sort of class only Coulter can exude.

“But we haven’t heard a peep from Pedugger on this issue. Funny how they both go awol when something like this comes up.”
And on goes the deafening silence.
I actually get called worse stuff than that here on a day-to-day basis….seems like my life just trucks right along.
I certainly wouldn’t bother calling him a name like that (although watching that video of him primping like an 18 y/o gilr for the prom was pretty hilarious), but I also seem to remember a little something about “sticks and stones….”
I find the term distasteful, just because it has such a hateful conotation. I don’t use the “N’ word either…

“I find the term distasteful, just because it has such a hateful conotation. I don’t use the “N’ word either…”
But ‘child molester’ rolls off your keyboard with ease?
Of course you get called worse on a daily basis, Peedro, you’re a troll.
But comparing yourself trolling a lefty blog, and Ann calling a former US Senator a faggot at the most important annual Conservative symposium is pathetic, even for you.
And so what if Edwards primps for a television appearance. Does that expose him to being called a faggot just for a few laughs?
Heheehe, you came through “S” right on time! You are like clockwork!
Sorry jimm, please re-read my statement ok? It SHOULDN’T expose him to being called “faggot”….I thought I was pretty clear.
I did re-read it. You don’t endorse it but you also clearly don’t care much because it was Ann Coulter insulting a Democrat and not a hypothetical “left-wing” Coulter insulting a Republican (which would have you inciting a riot).
So, Pedro does his usual thing by saying something while at the same time not really saying anything at all.
i.e., you don’t disagree with Coulter.
Time to break out this old chestnut.
The fact remains: Ann Coulter was the most popular speaker at the most important meeting for conservative political activists. Something is deeply wrong with conservatism.
The other fact remains: Coulter has a long record of saying similar stuff, and yet Mitt Romney still thought he needed to associate with her in order to build his credibility with conservatives. Simply pathetic for what it says about the conservative movement and Romney as well.
Random thoughts:
* Does Coulter have proof of this? Does John Edwards screw other guys? I want to hear it, Ann.
* I can’t wait to read Dan Savage writing about this.
* This is the conservative movement in a nutshell. This is like being on the playground in third grade: “Hey, John Edwards, you’re a faggot!” The proper response is, of course, “Hey, Ann Coulter, you’re a mental poopy-pants!”
* If anyone is the pot calling the kettle black, it’s Ann Coulter. Her relationship list is pretty sparse for someone who is the sex kitten of the Right (I don’t get that either, she isn’t pretty, but she is). Her list of male companions is pretty short and sparse. We could speculate for days on end about Ann’s sexuality.
* When Eddie Murphy said this, it was a helluva lot funnier in of itself.

Yeah, I keep thinking there’s a joke there, but I can’t find it.
“We could speculate for days on end about Ann’s sexuality.”
Please, let’s not.
I’ve got a better response. “You’re a classic example of the inverse ratio between the size of the mouth and the size of the brain.”
I think Ann is turning into the Bill Clinton of the Republican tag-alongs.
This is the second year that she has scuttled the entire content of the CPAC conference, save for her bomb-throwing. I bet that no one on this comment board has even the faintest idea what went on there, save for one sentence uttered by Coulter and the fact that McCain didn’t show.
Conservatives make fun of Bill Clinton for sucking all the oxygen every time he enters a room. I think the same thing needs to be said now about Ann Coulter.
However, I doubt that any front-running Republican candidates will hire her as an official campaign blogger.
By the way, if Joy Behar or Rosie O’Donnell had made a similar comment about someone like Ted Haggard, would Democrats be coming unglued?
It seems that we have a severe civility problem in this country these days.
Au Contraire, mon amis. I watched quite a bit of it on C-span last night. Watched Tom Tancredo’s whole speech about how America is becoming a 3rd world country, etc.
…if Joy Behar or Rosie O’Donnell had made a similar comment about someone like Ted Haggard, would Democrats be coming unglued?
Seriously, who the fuck listens to them anyway? If they aren’t throwing poop at Donald Trump, I mean.
It seems that we have a severe civility problem in this country these days.
This is true. Is there any longer a doubt that it is not the sole domain of the Left?
I can make an educated guess as to what went on at CPAC but I’d need a Johann Nepomuk Geiger picture to illustrate it.
It turns out Coulter herself is a fag-hag:
