Good To See

I’ve seen this kind of work from Sen. Clinton’s campaign, where I sort of expect it based on their past experiences, but now Sen. Obama’s camp is clearly in the rapid response game. Too many Democrats think that the media will uncover the truth to conservative smears or that the most ridiculous things won’t make the news – but they do and they’ll take on a life of their own if you aren’t around to refute it or fan the flames (if it’s a positive). And also folks: please don’t take your cues anymore from The War Room movie. It’s a great flick, but the news cycle is no longer a rather leisurely 24 hours like it was in 1992. It’s constant, it never stops, and it doesn’t take days off for the weekends.
(The DNC is also on the offense discussing the likely GOP candidates already, like they did with our candidates in 2003)

You are preaching to the choir about rapid response. The news media has ZERO desire to correct the scurrilous charges levied by the RW on a daily basis. It time for the DEMS to be on the offensive from the jump. The disatrous 2004 Kerry Campaign should serve as a lesson in how NOT to run a modern day Democratic campaign.
“A forceful answer, in this way of thinking, would come off as an overreaction and only draw more attention to the article’s assertions.”
A forceful answer might make the paper re-think publishing another bogus story closer to election day.
Good work Obama.
I have over 500 media email addresses in my addressbook and I scour news and blog sites for media misstatements. I started this during the Clinton impeachment era when there was only Media Whores Online, BartCop and The Daily Howler available for data. The rest of the time I had to rely on what news I could catch.
Now, there are scores of sites in addition to yours, so my email accounts are kept active. It’s like fighting $200 per hour attorneys, they never give up but the fight is worth it.
