They had a pretty good head coach and they fired him because of personality problems that should have been solved in the fourth grade. Marty is not a perfect head coach, but the loss to the Pats was a close one, not a 'melt down' as Bernie Wilson seems to think. Two plays, Parker's muff and McCree's fumble, were the difference. But even if you think that Marty is a good coach with a playoff jinx problem, the key fact is that there were no better head coaches available. That they hired Norv Effing Turner is pretty clear evidence of that. I don't have the hate on for Turner like our good friend OW, but Turner has had two cracks at head coach and has not done well.
