Same As It Ever Was

The media has one set of rules for liberals, and another for cons. That’s just how it works.

Oh please. If any Republican hired Charles Johnson as their official blogger, the media would be in an uproar thanks to the fires that would be stoked by the liberal blogosphere.

The left had a frigging cow (and you were one of the ones bleating about it) when the WaPo hired Ben Domenech and that was BEFORE the reports of plagiarism surfaced.

Enough with the bogus whining already.

  2. Duros62 says:

    Why is this a story?

Enough with the bogus whining already.

Please tell that to Michelle Malkin.
    Please. Cuz it’s boring and a non-issue.

  3. Duros62 says:

And Edwards has fired those two bloggers.

    Bad on him.

  4. Nimrod Gently says:

NO HE HASN’T NO HE HASN’T THAT WAS PREMATURE SALON DON’T KNOW ANYTHING WE’RE STILL TALKING ABOUT IT

If it’s true, fuck John Edwards and his campaign.

  5. Jay says:

Duros, I’m tired of ALL the people blubbering about how badly the media treats them.

The media has changed. Information gets out so quickly these days that it is easy to counter the BS. Besides, from time to time the major mainstream media often picks up on a BS meme that is bad for Democrats and sometimes it is bad for Democrats.

Oliver doesn’t realize it, but he sounds just as bad as the conservatives who bellow about the “liberal media.”

And what was Edwards thinking anyway? With all of the talented liberal bloggers out there, he chose her? Goes to show more of his disconnect as far as I am concerned.

    Since the midterms, you mean?

  7. Duros62 says:

Well, whatever, she’s a good writer.
Malkin’s little high-school skits trying to diminish and ridicule another blogger’s words and/or meaning is ridiculous. Especially when you consider where that ridicule comes from.

bowing to the kind of bigotry of Bill Donohue and Michelle Malkin (Donohue’s assistant in this little research project), would be a serious mistake, both in terms of Edwards and his netroots outreach (which has been terrific thus far) but more in letting these haters have any more sway in national politics than they’ve already got. Weather this minor storm and stop letting the hypocritical bigots on the right dictate the terms.

  8. Nimrod Gently says:

Damn right he chose her. Left-field, sure, but she’s good.

  9. Jay says:

    Left-field, sure, but she’s good.

No, she’s not good. She’s obnoxious. She drew a large audience because she didn’t care about writing like a truck driver talks, but she’s completely juvenile with regard to content. Always has been.

Why couldn’t have chosen somebody like Jeralyn Merritt or Amy Sullivan?

  10. Nimrod Gently says:

Oh well if you say so

  11. Sundown says:

    Jay,

While I wouldn’t have faulted him at all if he hired either/both of those two, if he had, there would still have been some right-wingers somewhere out there hollering about it.

    One can never please everyone.

Which is why we see you all over the right-wing blogs telling them to can the “liberal media” rhetoric, right Jay?

    Riiiiiiight.

    Wotta tool!

Only in the minds of those that are closed could I say that I disagree with those conservatives that spout the “liberal media” dreck and still be called a ‘tool.’

    There are no words.

  14. Take it up with Pedro, then, Jay. Even better, why don’t you review Dugger’s “independent analysis of the media” some time? That’d be pretty amusing.

  15. Duros62 says:

Yeah, I’m still waiting to see that too.
an un-biased study by someone who thinks fire hydrants are left-wing biased that concludes that the media is, in fact, biased.
    Who woulda thought?

Let me see you say it on a right-wing forum –you know, where someone might actually disagree with you– and I’ll be impressed.

Otherwise, if the tool fits, wear it!

  17. Nimrod Gently says:

He’s keeping them on. Hooray for John Edwards!

  18. Duros62 says:

    Point. Advantage, Edwards.

  19. Jay says:

Go ahead and direct me to one where they are going on about “the liberal media” and I’ll gladly do it.

Regardless, it’s ridiculous to call me a ‘tool’ especially when I’m taking a position contrary to that in most conservative circles.

  20. Nimrod Gently says:

Newsbusters comes to mind. RedState.org? Anything on TownHall.com or Pyjamas Media?

  21. Duros62 says:

Come on, you guys. Jay’s right. He’s in agreement, here.
For once. Nice to see that.
    So….he’s not a tool.

    More like a widget.
