Rep. Tancredo Forms ’08 Bid Committee
Colorado Republican Rep. Tom Tancredo, an
outspoken opponent of illegal immigration, said Tuesday he will form an
exploratory committee for a possible presidential campaign.
Nothing illustrates the disparity between the two parties more than this. On one side, you’ve got the aspirational, positive campaigns of John Edwards and Barack Obama, while the Republicans now have in their field a man whose hatred of immigrants is the sole reason for his campaign. In 2004, the hispanic vote went 50-50, in 2006 hispanics came back to the Democrats, and with the addition of Tom Tancredo to the Republican presidential ranks – could the number move to 100%? I sure hope so.

“They’re coming here to kill you, and you, and me, and my grandchildren.”
There is indeed a disparity: Tancredo opposes illegal activity, he opposes increased political power in the U.S. for the Mexican government, he opposes BP agents being railroaded by their own government, he opposes plans to create a NorthAmericanUnion, he opposes propping up the corrupt MexicanGovernment by allowing them to avoid their responsibilities to their own citizens, and on and on.
Like someone who suggests a diet of tainted candy, Obama and the other Dems support or at do not oppose all of those things.
As for Nimrod, the actual paragraph from the newspaper article quoted was this:
—-Many who enter the country illegally are just looking for jobs, Tancredo said, but others are “coming to kill you, and you, and me, and my children, and my grandchildren.”—-
Considering the large numbers of gang members and SpecialInterestAliens (from Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, etc.) who’ve come over the borders, who are you going to trust? Someone who’s concerned about those dangers, or a party that says a paramilitary CentralAmerican gang infiltrating the U.S. isn’t anything to worry about?
I either support or do not oppose a diet of tainted candy for NoMoreBlather. Also, I hope Tancredo goes far in the primaries — I really do.
Yes, Oliver, the fact that Tancredo wants to be President, but has no chance to be nominated, will drive all the Hispanics into the Democratic column.
Considering the large numbers of…SpecialInterestAliens (from Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, etc.)
How large is it?
Tancredo is a divisive figure on the right too.
Here’s a Redstate post about Tancredo’s associations with groups that don’t pass the conservative purity test.
Considering the large numbers of…SpecialInterestAliens
Whatch it, bub. You think spaceships have ramps for no good reason?
Actually, that’s not in context either. I checked, he doesn’t qualify the statement.
Even though Americans have already lost confidence in Republicans with illegal immigration, this issue could be the Dems achilles heel if mismanaged. Amnesty isn’t very popular, and providing social security and free health care to this group is even less popular. I think the Dems may end up being too generous with “undocumented immigrants” and piss off a lot of legal citizens in the process.
In 2005, the BP caught 650 people from SpecialInterestCountries (countries that sponsor or have links to terrorism) such as Sudan, S.A., Iran, Iraq, etc. etc. Obviously, hundreds or thousands were not caught. Even ones that have been caught have in the past been given a notice to appear and released into the U.S. And, the vast majority of such people then simply disappear.
The Dems tell you that you don’t need to worry about hundreds or thousands of people from terrorism-linked countries trying (and many succeeding) to get into the U.S.
As for Redstate, about a year ago they appear to have decided to go after the BlogsForBush market, and they banned me for no reason and have subsequently refused to delete my copyrighted content.
As for the Redstate post itself, it’s based on an oldy, moldy, sub-blog WSJ smear that I discussed here.
Oh no comrades! NoMoreBladderDotCom has uncovered the alien pods we planted at redstate! We’ve got to vaporize him before he reports back to Tancredo’s rebel headquarters!
IT’S A TRAP!
I keep telling you and telling you, and you keep denying it: You don’t care about terrorism.
Ah, the LoneWacko has arrived. Hello, Wack.

Who needs Semanticleo, when we’ve got you?
We had this happen in Massachusetts recently – a democratic candidate with a comprehensive platform to improve the state based on what the actual residents of the state are concerned about and a republican candidate with no plan, no platform except: “don’t worry I won’t let those immigrants get ANYTHING”. No wonder she was trounced in the polls.
Frank, I grew up with domestic terrorism in the news every other day, so you can just shut up.
Then maybe you can stop making fun of people that are concerned about it.
The people on that Subway that day weren’t laughing, anymore than the people at the WTC
What subway and who’s laughing?
My God! You have forgotten!
Funny, when I think of the July 2005 bomb attacks in London, I usually think of the ones on the seventh. You know. The ones that weren’t prevented and killed 52 people.
That was a bus, by the way. A bus.
Anyway, I wasn’t talking about that. I said I “grew up” with domestic terrorism in the news every other day. I was a grown-up by 2005.
It’s great seeing Republicans dooming their electoral prospects for at least a generation by demonizing Hispanics.
