Guaranteed Democratic President

As a loyal Democrat I implore, beg, and beseech Jeb Bush to run for President. Make no mistake, when it comes to Jeb and his older brother Jeb is the smart one (not that that’s saying much). But Jeb can actually pull a sentence together without sounding like an idiot, he’s good with the media and actually speaks Spanish without  cringeworthy pronunciation (he beat the pants off of the Democratic lieutenant governor when I lived in Florida). Oh sure he’s your standard issue conservative nutjob when it comes to social issues and he was at the head of the charge to prolong the suffering of the brain-dead Terri Schiavo. BUT, I want Jeb to run and be the nominee because it would lead to a landslide for the Democrat. It doesn’t matter which Democrat. If the Republican nominee is a Bush, Dennis Kucinich is sworn in with Al Sharpton as his vice president.

Run, Jeb, Run.

  1. Am I the only one who likes Kucinich? I would vote for Kucinich. Granted, I admit he is 98% unelectable, but I like him.

Check this out (and tell me what it means)

McCain loses Phoenix Republican straw poll

Arizona Sen. John McCain fared poorly and lost a straw poll among Phoenix-area Republicans in a potential matchup with other GOP presidential candidates.

McCain finished a disappointing fourth in a straw poll of those attending recent meetings of the Maricopa County Republican Party.

California Congressman Duncan Hunter finished first followed by Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former U.S. House speaker Newt Gingrich.

McCain is a GOP front-runner for president, but still is disliked by the more conservative members of the party. The senior senator has clashed with GOP’s right wing on issues such as tax cuts, campaign finance reform, estate taxes and a federal gay marriage ban.

Hunter is backed by West Valley Congressman Trent Franks, but is not viewed nationally as a top contender.

Romney has been to the state several times meeting with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Mormon business and political leaders.

“There is substantial political and financial support for governor Romney in Arizona and we will continue to see more of it in the coming months as he continues his visits here,” said Jason Rose, a Phoenix political consultant working with Romney.

Apparently John isn’t enough of a conservatard for the assholes that I live among.

Can we jujitsu these assholes into a force for good? Point Jeb their way?

  3. No,no, give us Duncan Hunter. President Obama/Edwards/Clinton/Vilsack would appreciate the “gimme”.

  4. Nimrod Gently says:

    I’d vote for Kucinich.

I still like Wes Clark though.

  5. Edgewater Joe says:

Even better — did you see the banner ad on the website? “STOP MARTINEZ – THE WRONG MAN FOR THE RNC.”

    Implode, Repunks, implode!

  6. doug r says:

I like most of Kucinich’s positions, it’s just that he doesn’t ever run for president to get elected. It’s like the Nader campaign, an exercise in futility.

  7. Dugger says:

I really, really like Kucinich for the Democrats. Really.

  8. legion says:

No, no, no. The Democratic dream candidate for the GOP to run in ‘08 is clearly Tancredo. Imagine every single first- and second-generation immigrant in the entire country voting straight Dem…. mmmmmmmmmmm…

  9. Iceman says:

Even better: Jeb as the Repug nominee with Tancredo and Brownback third-party campaigns.

    Anyone else for Sanders/Ellison ‘08?

  10. Matt says:

    Legion,

I argued that Tancredo would be a dream come true for Democrats. He’d certainly be entertaining to watch (and laugh at) for our side.

  11. Nimrod Gently says:

This is all academic anyway because as Frank has made clear time and again, the Republicans are bound to win in 2008 because they certainly weren’t crushed in the midterms and Democrats suck and shut up.

  12. Duros62 says:

And liberalislamunistfascists are all poopy-heads, so there.

  13. fd10801 says:

Allow me to be the bearer of good tidings:

Al qaeda flees Baghdad, and Already running away?

What a great day for all us who love America, and really want to fight terrorism!

I know you’ll join me in celebrating this great news.

    That is, after

    Denying it’s true
    Saying that it doesn’t matter
Bush isn’t responsible for it if it is true
This has nothing to do with fighting terror
    Where’s Usama bin Laden?
Obama in ‘08 — He’ll inspire the terrorists to quit, and join the family business

  14. Rounds77 says:

We virtually invited Al-Queda to a place they never had a real stronghold, and now they’re supposedly leaving because of Bush’s troop surge. Thank God you love America Frank or none of us would’ve notice this strategic redeployment.

  15. fd10801 says:

I’ll put you down for “It doesn’t matter”

  16. Oliver says:

Pajamas Media: We make Fox look good!

  17. fd10801 says:

Oliver, I’ll put you down for “Denying it’s true”.

  18. Rory_Is_Freedom says:

Jeb gets alternately pissed and amused when asked this question. I always thought Jeb had outstanding qualities to be president; in fact during the 1990’s I saw him as more of an intellectual force than his brother. But Dubya beat him to the punch. Jeb will never run for president. Case closed. But Jeb’s son – George Prescott Bush – now that’s an entirely different story!

  19. Wilbur says:

Frank, put me down for: “Hope it’s true, but not sure of the longterm implications if it is true, and even if it means the end of terrorism as we know it it doesn’t excuse this administration for the criminal and incompetent prosecution of this idiot war up to this point.”

Oh, also put me down for “Frank is an annoying jerk”

  20. Nimrod Gently says:

Wow, Pyjamas Media. That must be an honest and unbiased report of goings-on in Iraq then. Not to mention well-informed, considering how large and organised a news corporation it is.

And no, it doesn’t really matter that much that they’re leaving Iraq, since they weren’t there until we invaded in the first place.

You can put me down for “Shut the fuck up, Frank, you smug, willfully ignorant jerkwad”.

  21. fd10801 says:

    nimrod, you’re a joke

  22. S says:

No, Frank, Nimrod, as usual, hits the nail on the head and speaks for many of us.

If anyone’s proven himself a joke for having something to say about virtually every. single. subject. OW posts EXCEPT where Republicans are truly proven jackasses … it’s big ass you.

  23. legion says:

    Frank,
Did you actually read those links yourself? Here’s some important snippets:
“a senior military intelligence officer told Pajamas Media today.”

“In speaking with Pajamas Media the military intelligence officer supplied several new details of the al Qaeda retreat.”

So, this isn’t “news”, per se, it’s PJM mindlessly repeating a propaganda briefing tailored to them by CENTCOM. Here’s an important clue, Frank: Nobody else is reporting this – not Fox, WND, not anyone. This should be a hint that it’s no more factually-based than Mike Ledeen’s declaring everyone in AQ to be dead or whatever.

Oh, and the other story you link to? The one from IraqTheModel? The one referred to in the PJM article? It doesn’t portray the potential evac of AQ out of Baghdad to be a Good Thing. Why? Again, I suggest you read the article:
“Actually the people in Diyala have every reason to worry about such migration of terror cells because in fact even without reading what those eyewitnesses and officials had to say one would expect insurgents and terrorists to choose hiding in Diyala rather than other provinces until the security operations are through.”

In other words, exactly the criticism many people actually experienced in military affairs & insurgent ops have levelled at this poorly-thought-out escalation plan – the bad guys will simply leave the places we send troops to & wreak havoc and terror elsewhere until we either pull back out or chase them.

Put me down for: you’re a naive, gullible idiot.

  24. Duros62 says:

I thought it was The Onion.com

Put me down as doubtful Frank can tell fact from fiction anymore.

  25. Wellstone says:

Frank, let me join in and call you a tool of CentCom’s inept Pyjamas-model propaganda mill.

    LOL!

Do you even stop to think about what you’re writing anymore?

  26. muzza says:

Sign me up for the Sam Huff School of Piling-On.

Frank, you never fail to disappoint. Everytime I think you’ve peaked, BAM, you kick it up another notch. You’re taking wingnuttery to previously unexplored heights.

Put me down as hoping you continue to be as entertaining as ever.
