A "complete" 180 in terms of a political debate means, as you know, a full reversal of position (which is, no doubt, where you got the idea of a "full" turn), putting the individual metaphorically with their back to their old argument. Nobody was confused by what you intended to say. However, when you tossed in 360 and 720, you essentially argued that mikefromtexas was still holding the same position he always had. Again, I get the idea that he was spinning/turning/rotating to find a new point of attack, but tossing in the mathematical equivalent to two full turns/rotations/spins puts him precisely back where he started.
