Kevin Martin’s FCC Tyranny

Just another reason we need a Democratic president so the airwaves can remain free.
It’s Not The Size

Leave it to a car wreck of a President like George Bush to look at the current world situation and decide that it isn’t his poorly thought out and executed policies that are at fault, but that the real source of it all is the military not being big enough.
Look, if the U.S. military wasn’t busy babysitting Iraq and trying to build a brand new nation that was never there while getting killed – there would be no military stretched thin. In fact, we’d be ahead in the global fight against terror instead of at the mercy of tyrants.

Laura Bush’s Right To Privacy

This is why the press is not liked. Laura Bush has every right to not talk about her skin cancer. She was not elected to high office. If George Bush or Dick Cheney hide vital information about their health, feel free to hang ‘em out to dry. But Laura Bush has never been on a ballot, so she gets a pass.

Apparently the right-wing NY Post is using the same math as losing White House guru Karl Rove.

I’m (finally) in the playoffs in my fantasy league (my team, the DC Skinz went 8-5), but of course my opponent has Ladanian Tomlinson AND the St. Louis defense, plus my team played like ass yesterday. But there is hope. If Peyton Manning somehow pulls out 34 or more fantasy points on Monday Night Football I will advance to the league championship next week.
Probably not even remotely likely, but still…
UPDATE: Close… but no cigar. Manning had a 29 point night.
Tom Vilsack vs. St. McCain
Tweet
Gov. Vilsack’s Letter to Sen. John McCain on the Iraq War:.
Your suggestion to deploy additional American servicemen and women to Iraq would make a big mistake even bigger and send the wrong message to President Bush, who has stubbornly refused to recognize that his Administration’s military and diplomatic failures in Iraq have recklessly endangered America’s national interests.
The Senate Rots Your Brain
Tweet
Two key Democrats, including U.S. Sen. Christopher J. Dodd, said Sunday they could back a temporary increase in the number of U.S. troops in Iraq – but only if that surge was for a very short period and specifically helped end American involvement.
At least three other Democrats, as well as former Secretary of State Colin Powell, saw little help from such a surge.
And on the other side of the Iraq debate, Sens. Joseph I. Lieberman, D-Conn., and John McCain, R-Ariz., are saying additional troops are not only needed, but should not be subject to any withdrawal timeline.
This is precisely why folks like me furrow our brows when others say Barack Obama hasn’t been in the senate long enough to run for President. The institution sucks all the life out of people, it leads them to choose cautious, stupid positions with no relation to reality and then turn to their 99 colleagues who pronounce it “sensible”.
