Happy holiday to you, too.

Blessings to you and yours
Have a good xmas and I hope santa is good to you
WAY OT, but James Brown has died
A huge, huge chunk of American music has just stepped off the stage.
Thank God we have so much of his recorded music. I’m playing his “Live at the Apollo” on my Internet Radio show right now.
He will be sorely, sorely missed.
There is hardly any rock or souls artist performing today that doesn’t owe him a debt in composition, arrangement, style or choreography.
He was almost a Renaissance man of modern music — a complement to Ray Charles.
Get up there in Heaven, James, and show ‘em how to get up offa dat thing!
Merry Christmas to all.
RIP to the Godfather of Soul. I now have “Sex Machine” and the Eddie Murphy bit about him in my head … heh.
Merry Christmas everybody!
One of the best Christmas songs of all time: James Brown’s Let’s Make Christmas Mean Something This Year.
Merry Christmas Oliver!
Hey Oliver. Merry Christmas to you and yours and Happy Holidays to everyone else!
OW, even the freepers are wishing you a merry christmas. So there is hope.
In that spirit, I extend to you a boisterous Happy Holidays!!!!
Merry Christmas, Leslie King.
N G :: That’s a new low, even for you…
That can’t be. Everyone knows that only the right has hateful, A-holes.
NG must have made a mistake.
Well, it’s hard to get lower than supporting the use of the n-word, but Nimrod never fails to prove his disgusting nature.
Everyone knows that only the right has hateful, A-holes
Not everyone who’s an A-hole is a con but every con is an A-hole.
N G :: That’s a new low, even for you…
I just can’t wait for all the disrespect you rightard clowns will heap on Jimmy Carter when he passes.
Evidently it should be OK with you and Nimrod. Maybe you’re OK with the use of the n-word like Nimrod is as well.
RightBastardGod: Surely you can’t be suggesting that N G’s disrespect is somehow exonerated by the disrespect that the right will display towards the not yet dead President Carter?
What nonsense!
However, I will ask you a riddle: What Jewish holiday will it be, when Pres. Carter dies?
The answer: Any day Carter dies will be a Jewish holiday…
Did I say anything negative about Gerald Ford? No I did not. I admire Gerald Ford for doing an impossible job better than anyone could have expected.
Whereas you’re a bunch of pathetic, feral hypocrites who need to feel validated so badly that they’ll jump on anything said by anyone on “the opposite side” and twist it into proof that the entire opposing ideology is sick and twisted.
Between Frank doing this:
…and JWG calling me racist because I considered – simply considered – the context of single incident of a black man using the n-word, I almost wish the right wing had anyone non-psychotic to espouse their views.
You are a complete idiot.
I didn’t call you racist. This must be another example of your need for a remedial reading class.
You’re a liar and a hypocrite and you don’t deserve more of a reply than that.
Did I say anything negative about Gerald Ford? No I did not.
Correct.
Did you say anything disrespectful about him? Yes
Are you a horse’s ass trying to back out of a “botched joke”?
Yes.
Show me where I called you a racist. You are the liar. I said that you are willing to tolerate racist terms from some people. That is a fact based on what you have written in various comments.
Evidently you don’t even know what this means. Let me give you an example:
Let’s say that someone (like yourself) repeatedly gets upset over statements from those on the Right that are attributed to racism. Let’s also say that same person does not see a problem with someone on the Left using the n-word (e.g. DAFN) when referencing a black man.
THAT is an example of hypocrisy.
See how easy it is to provide an example? Now go ahead and show everyone how I am a liar and a hypocrite.
Surely you can’t be suggesting that N G’s disrespect is somehow exonerated by the disrespect that the right will display towards the not yet dead President Carter?
Nope, I didn’t imply that at all. I implied that freepers like you will be the first ones to dump all over Carter when he dies.
You’re all so overly sensitive and feel victimized by the slightest trespass against you. Maybe you should consider some form of positive therapy. Hanging out on a liberal’s blog to bitch and moan about how liberals are ruining your life doesn’t appear to be helping.
Did you say anything disrespectful about him? Yes
Pardon me for asking, but how so?
RBG : If that wasn’t what you were implying, then your comment was totally irrelevant to the thread.
D L: Leslie King was Gerald Ford’s name at birth. You may not have heard, President Ford died yesterday.
Wishing him a Happy Birthday is certainly disrespectful. At least it is for those of us that were not raised by wolves.
At least it is for those of us that were not raised by wolves.
Funny coming from someone who thinks the PotUS cussing with food in his mouth is somehow “charming” and called those that suggested that it might be bad table manners “elitest”.
It’s disrespectful because Frank said so and because someone on TEH OTHER SIDE said it.
If I wanted to be disrespectful to a dead President I’d have said something insulting.
JWG: add “big mewling baby” to that.
I know Jerry Ford was born Leslie King. He wished him a Merry Christmas — so what? Last time I checked, I thought that was a nice thing to do. One would hope that Ford would have had a Merry Christmas.
I think you’re just looking to be offended.
Why would you refer to someone by his birth name that is no longer his legal name? Especially when his legal name is the name he used well before he became famous?
And the desire to wish Ford, of all people, a Merry Christmas just popped into his head? I’m sure it had nothing to do with the fact that he just died. Why do you wish a man who just died (who happens to be a Republican) a Merry Christmas? Do you really think his family was thinking, “Gosh, what a merry Christmas!”
At least Red is honest enough to not back away from the disrespect of a man who just passed away.
You’re a complete moron.
So why did you use Ford’s birth name rather than his legal name (taken from adoption)?
So why did you wish a man who just passed away a Merry Christmas?
Tell us your intent, since we are too stupid to understand.
Isn’t anyone interested in wishing James Brown a Merry Christmas?
1) No particular reason.
2) Because he’d just died.
They weren’t kidding about the right-wing’s persecution complex. You guys just have a pathological need to be the victim, don’t you?
You’re pathetic. Between this and your acceptance of using the n-word against a black man make you the most disgusting commenter in this blog.
Why don’t you go off to Massachusetts and just marry that damn strawman?
