I wouldn't say they don't have a quarterback, unless you think the Packers scouts are idiotic. When you pick a QB in the first round, it's generally expected that he'll be something special. And he certainly hasn't been rushed into duty. It probably is time for Favre to step aside and let Rodgers take the helm. If Farve retires the Packers have no quarterback. On his worst day, Farve is better than Rodgers on his best and there is a serious question whether Rodgers will be able to play next season given the severity of his injury. The Packers need a whole lot more than a quarterback, and they have managed to win enough this year that looking to the draft to replace Farve is a real crapshoot. Farve can not carry a team anymore, but if the Packers put enough around him he is still good enough that they could contend. The only other option is to try and pick someone up by trade or free agency and as someone old enough to remember the John Hadl deal, I would prefer to see Farve play until he can start collecting social security. I have to say that while I adore Favre and he's been a great player, he needs to hang it up for the good of the team. When he's hot he's an inferno, but when he's cold it's really REALLY ugly, and he's been on the chilly side for quite a while with no real spark in sight.
