No jackass, I never said anything about how Fox presented it. I said Richardson goofed. All I said about Fox is that the way they presented it was not untrue.

Again, the headline speaks for itself becuase Richardson did not say “I’m running in 2008.” He used the phrase “I’m running” and Fox inserted the “in 2008″ as a paraphrase.

No shit Sherlock and its’ a logical conclusion. He was interviewed about running for President. He has talked about it. He was just re-elected as Governor. It’s natural and perfectly acceptable for them to add “in 2008″ after Richardson’s statement where he says, “I’m running.”

The fact that you think Fox was being an honest broker in this exchange is emblematic of how little you care about the truth and its representation.

Cameron reported what Richardson said. And the only idiot is you who believes that only Fox News creates a headline that draws people in to read the story. The headline was accurate. The story was accurate. The facts were accurate. Everything in the fucking story is true and yet you keep going on about the truth.

Jay, the headline makes it seem like Richardson announced he was running. Fox did not present Richardson’s comment as a “goof.” They presented it as if he intentionally said “I’m running” in 2008.

I think this goes bacl to the Kerry flap. Keery misspoke but Fox reported it as if he meant to say what he said and actually believed it. Nothing could have been further from the truth.

What if Cameron had reported the story this way: “During an interview, Richardson let down his guard in a Freudian slip and deviated from the careful language politicians considering a run from the presidency usually use.”

1) He would have been reporting what actually happened.
2) He would have had a better story because it brings to light in a humorous way, the larger picture of how politicians use language to manuevre around issues.

But Cameron didn’t report the story that way. He attempted to pass it off as if Richardson had announced his candidacy. That’s because he’s a hack. You, of course, are an idiot.

I know you didn’t make it up but it’s an idiotic response in this instance as Fox was deliberately distorting Richardson’s words to make sound like he had announced his candidacy. Again, read the headline. Idiot.

Cameron obviously took Richardson’s misstatement and tried to turn it into an announcement that he was running in 2008. Again, I have no doubt that Richardson will probably run in 2008 but he has not yet officially announced his candidacy and Fox reported their interview as if he had. Look at that headline again, Jay.

Reporting a Democrat’s gaffe as news. Sounds just like Fox.

And Fox News did not report that he announced his candidacy. They reported he said, “I’m running” which he did.

Of course, that’s not true either because he was speaking hypothetically, and according to Nimrod, speaking hypothetically in the present tense is a common occurrence.

Sigh. Where’s the Woodward and Bernstein of old when you need them?

And why isn’t it news? Because, per Richardson’s office, he didn’t announce his candidacy.
