I will confess that the idea of President Cheney gives me good reason to hope for Mr. Bush’s continued good health.

But lately many conservatives are telling us that Bush has not governed conservatively enough and that’s why no one likes him now.

And yes, it would involve warrants. White Supremecist groups are already being monitored on the internet or being straight infiltrated(through WARRANTS).

And phone lines have been tapped for decades…with WARRANTS.

President Bush doesn’t want to use warrants because he doesn’t want anyone to actually know who he’s listening to. Namely political enemies and anyone else he deems a “threat” (read: people who don’t agree with him.)

But it’s funny watching pedro weakly trying to catch “dirty liberals” being hypocritical. We like things done under the law with warranted supervision. We don’t like clandestine spying on American citizens where noone knows who’s being spied on or for what reason.

I bet it will involve WARRANTS, something this President doesn’t think he needs.

And he’s polarizing in a “good” way.

Many millions of whites will not vote for him simply because he’s black. I’m not saying every one of those are racists, but lets be real here. A huge chunk of this country believes that only Americans of European descent are “real” Americans and that this country “belongs” to them.

But in my eyes that’s a GOOD thing. There will be a clear division of Americans that want to move our country towards the future and those that want to keep it anchored in the “good old days”. I believe that Obama won’t only “preach to the choir”. He’ll actually campaign in red states to get his message out.

I believe he’ll trigger the biggest voter registration surge amongst minorities (black, latino, asian, middle-eastern) in this countries history. Combine this with Democratic-led voter-protection acts (which had BETTER be coming!) and it spells victory for Obama.

Of course this all hinges on him taking good, solid progressive positions the move toward the center. (But DO NOT BEND on a woman’s right to choose! Be pro-life, not anti-abortion. Support greater contraception efforts to reduce unwanted pregnancies. Don’t bow to the right on that issue.)

Another issue that will arise is the threats to his life that will no doubt come from what Dr. King called “our sick white broters”. There simply WILL be far right-wingers who’ll advocate killing the first black president. Federal authorities will have to come up with a comprehensive effort to identify and nullify those threats.
