This Explains Everything

Ha!

Lohse, a social work master’s student at Southern Connecticut State University, says he has proven what many progressives have probably suspected for years: a direct link between mental illness and support for President Bush.

Lohse says his study is no joke. The thesis draws on a survey of 69 psychiatric outpatients in three Connecticut locations during the 2004 presidential election. Lohse’s study, backed by SCSU Psychology professor Jaak Rakfeldt and statistician Misty Ginacola, found a correlation between the severity of a person’s psychosis and their preferences for president: The more psychotic the voter, the more likely they were to vote for Bush.

and drive an SUV at 90 on the parkways? thought so. I know them by their “W”.

  2. Rex Mundane says:

“Lohse says the trend isn’t unique to Bush: A 1977 study by Frumkin & Ibrahim found psychiatric patients preferred Nixon over McGovern in the 1972 election.”

This is awesome, but not nearly conclusive enough. It shows the percentage of psychotics that prefer the right, we now need the percentage of the right who exhibit signs of psychosis. Bob Dornan’s undermedicated ass springs readily to mind.

  3. A vote for Bush is a vote for the Rapture. No doubt there’s a correlation there, too, with Rapture-ites being more likely than the average citizen to be totally crazy.

Thesis of a “social works” masters STUDENT at Southern Connecticut State U. Hey, that’s more than progressives typically get before they form calcified opinions. Go for it. Don’t forget Bush knew about 9-11 and we got Wellstone’s plane. That probaly fits in with the thesis also (but why call it a thesis – you already ‘know’ its hard fact – start the show trials!)

  5. dr pedro says:

    No show trial dug,

first they take away the guns, then they just involuntarily “hospitalize” republicans for “re-education” I mean shoot, we have “research” to prove it! There is a very common thread amongst leftists (see Stalin’s USSR for examples of using psychiatric diagnosis for silencing political opponents…)

    Yeah, no insanity here.

  7. Robbie says:

    That explains Malkin.

  8. Diamond LeGrande says:

Is Pedro really this paranoid or is he just faking it? Because it seems like he’s trying to prove this thesis.

  9. dr pedro says:

It’s funny diamond, that is EXACTLY what the good germans said to the jews in 1938….

And it was laugh-riot hilarious back then too!

  10. Nimrod Gently says:

    I get it, it’s free-association.

  11. Oh, and GODWIN FTW

  12. michael says:

Wait…so the liberals are the “good Germans”? Or are the liberals the Jews? And who represents the bad Germans?

    This analogy is confusing.

  13. dr pedro says:

only to you michael, only to you

  14. michael says:

Then, please, pedro, take a minute and enlighten me.

See, I always thought “good Germans” referred, somewhat ironically, to those who stood by and watched, or cheered, as human rights and lives were sacrificed in the name of nationalist patriotic fervor.

Please tell me which part of that I have wrong.

  15. Nimrod Gently says:

It’s simple, really: Pedro’s talking complete bollocks which has no relation to anything said or done beforehand.

  16. Duros62 says:

Well, now frame can amend his tag line from “Your an idiot” to “your a psychotic idiot.”
    Works for me.

  17. dr pedro says:

sorry mikey, you are going to have do your own work on this.

But let me give you a hint…the good germans told the jews they were paranoid…go upstream a ways and see if you can figure it out, ‘k?

But just because you ride the short bus of life, don’t expect the rest of us to explain everything to you….

  18. michael says:

sorry mikey, you are going to have do your own work on this.

I will, by talking to someone who’s not clearly unhinged.

Your analogy sucks on so many levels, that being insulted by you makes me feel better than anything else all day.

A 69 person sample from one Psychiatric Institution…
    A 100 item assessment and a 12 item assessment scale were used…
