Tom Tancredo and his virulently anti-Hispanic minions are making a strong bid to completely take over the GOP. With this kind of honesty, they’re on their way:
Miami is “as bad as any ghetto in any Third World country,” says Carlos Espinosa, spokesman for Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO), who stands by his earlier comments comparing Miami to a “Third World Country.”
That’s right Republicans, give in to the hate, slam the brown-skinned hordes in one of America’s major metropolitan regions.
Why am I hearing Emperor Palpatine in my head?
“Give in to your hatred, release your anger! With every passing moment you make yourself more my servant!”
Love it. Let the Tancredo soar! I’m still crossing my fingers for an antiwar candidate, which would be amazing, too. I think the GOP primary season is going to be OFF THE HOOK!
“Wedge issues” can turn on you.
If anyone deserves to have a wedge driven up their fundament, it’s that poisonous S.O.B.
Wow, even Bruther Jeb told him to shut up.
Immigration is a problem issue for the LOP (Lame Old Party). In one corner, you have the Cheneyite corporatists: the non-union roofing companies, the grape growers, the Waltons. They want cheap labor, and Mexicans work cheap. In another corner, you have neo-fascist Tom Tancredo and the Militiamen, who hate all Mexicans down to their brown skins. They want the Mexicans to stay in Mexico, and maybe depopulate the Mexican side of the border for good measure. These two sides have no common ground.
The Cheneyites run the party, and they lost. The absolute percentage gap wasn’t large, but they lost ground in just about every group around, especially Hispanics, whom they courted successfully in 2004. Furthermore, the New England moderates — George Bush Jr.’s own pedigree — bucked the party, and they’re a group that would be opposed to Tom Tancredo and clowns.
This could be one of the greatest catfights ever. Pass the popcorn.
Two more years of Iraq going through bloody chaos, and the Decider refusing to pull out — I’m telling you, I think there’s going to be an anti-war candidate on the GOP side. Sure, he’ll blame the Democrats, and the MSMedia, and the Teachers’ Unions and whoever else for Iraq getting that bad, but he’ll be for a pullout. And that will be freaking awesome to watch.
I like Miami that way. For all the slam press it gets, it is still the most exotic American city we have. NYC is predictable and pedestrian. LA and environs are seedy compared to Miami. If you have never really seen a third world country, you could mistakenly draw a broad stroke generalization like that. Those guys may be cracking wise now but wait until Cuba becomes the largest county in Florida. That’ll be sumthin’!?
