You should get some further perspective on US Airways, the carrier that apparently decided that a bunch of praying Muslims is a security threat in its own right.
They are a horrible, horrible airline.
Two Christmases ago I flew US Airways to Jamaica. The plane took off late. The connecting flight was late. Then they lost my luggage. They couldn’t tell me where it had been scanned last or where it might be, for two whole days.
Stupidly, I booked a flight with them in Summer ‘05 down to Florida for a friend’s wedding. The flight was late again, going both ways.
At this point I would rather postpone my travel arrangements until I could afford another airline rather than ever fly on US Airways again.
So, you should throw that into your decision matrix on whether they are good guys or not.
US Airways is Agony Airlines as taken over by America’s Worst Airline, so uh, what do you expect?
And they’re rumored to be working on a deal to acquire bankrupt #3 airline Delta, so their craptacular service is only going to get more and more widespread. This is the future of air travel. Worse service, higher fares.
These people need to stop pissing themselves every time they see a dark person. If they don’t want to get on the plane because of how someone else looks, take the fuckin bus.

I tried to get a customer rep last night, 02-05-07, and gave up after 40 min. Today I waited 25 min, but got someone. I told him that the seat that my wife sat in from SF to Australia was hard, cramped and very uncomfortable. I payed $1,400 for the round trip ticket. He said to upgrade to ‘Envoy’ class (business class) on the return would be an extra $6,000!
The trip from PHX-SF-Sydney were all UNITED flights, even though I booked thru the USAIR website! Be sure you check ALL the websites before you buy, and if you go to Australia, try to get a deal on business class if you can.
I used to like America West, but now that US AIR took over, they suck!
This useless excuse for an airline is another example of inefficiency, bad (horrible) customer service, and bad policies designed to nickel and dime its customers. I canceled a return flight from Denver to Phoenix recently. The rep told me that they would credit my account $118.xx back then they said if I ever rebooked the flight they would deduct $100.00 for a change fee. I said you are joking right??? She said no, then I said you are really only crediting my account back $18.xx and she said well not really. I pressed her and she finally admitted that indeed the net value in my account if I ever accessed it was the $18.xx. I even had her put her supervisor on and I get the same pat answer. I kept them on the phone for nearly and hour before I pummeled them with explitives. I told them they would go out of business soon with policies like this and their crappy attitude. I told them they should quit and go to work for Southwest Airline. When I cancel a flight they allow me to reuse the remaining funds at a later date….the entire balance of the funds not some bogus amount.
No wonder this country is in trouble.
Call United Airlines customer service and don’t be surprised when someone with a think Indian accent rattles off responses from a queue screen in front of them. That’s right, go old US born United has outsourced their customer service to India.

I am on my way back to DFW airport to try and find my ‘mishandled’ suitcase from my flight from PHX to DFW. There was no one working at the missing bags counter last night when I got in. I tried calling the customer service number and was told in such bad English, which I could barely understand, that I would have to go back to the airport to file the form. It is a 30 mile round trip for me.
US Air SUCKS. I got booked on the wrong flight, got moved to another flight, sat outside the gate without a/c in the Arizona heat for 45 minutes before we could take off and they lost (sorry… misplaced) my bag. Then, they had no one to help with lost bags and customer service phone reps with suck poor English that simply trying to communicate my needs was extremely frustrating.
This is obviously nothing unusual. Even the flight attendants were complaining about corporate policy and the inconvenience passengers had to face and were giving out free alcoholic beverages on the flight. (I had a double…).
Aside from the in-flight lubrication with vodka, nothing about the entire experience was even remotely acceptable as good business practice.
US AIR SUCKS. America West is really AMERICA WORST.
I couldn’t agree with all of you more! US Airways was never the best but now that they’ve gotten in bed with United–they are even worse!!!! I hate those fucking airlines. I’m only on them because I couldn’t get another flight available AND as someone pointed out, it wasn’t until I made the reservation that I realized the flight was actually with United!!! Never, ever, ever again!
I don’t know if anyone reading this ever has taken Midwest Airlines but they are absolutely the BEST! I wish they were large enough to take over these crappy airlines! They truly are “the best care in the air”. Unfortunately, they do not fly to where I need to go on this trip but next tie, I swear, I’ll walk across country before spend money on these fucking airlines again! I’ll take a boat, a train, a bus but never will tney get a penny my money!
