Do I need to explain? George Bush has done an admirable job on national security. If only we could profile…

I didn’t see anyone question McCain’s patriotism, misguided though many probably think it is– his age, health, honesty, and judgment, though, are all a bit questionable at this point.

What I want to know is why all of you are questioning the patriotism of a former POW and war hero.

Playing the silly bugger so early in the morning, Dugs?

Swift-boating of Kerry: claiming that he won his medals under false pretenses, that he falsified his accounts of his missions, that he didn’t serve dangerous duty, and that he engaged in treasonous behavior.

Your “swift-borking” of McCain: speculating on how the electorate will evaluate his age and discussing his positions on current policy issues.

One of these things is different, Dugger.

McCain imagines that there are more troops to send to Iraq, when there aren’t. That’s just a factual impairment, to say nothing of his massive judgement impairment, indicated by his desire to sacrifice more American lives on the altar of “seriousness.” McCain clearly needs some bed rest and some cream of wheat.

He’s 53 at the moment, does that help? While does have a youthful appearance (the gene pool helps and he takes pretty good care of himself), but the point is more that Edwards has the energy to lead (and he does as he runs 5-6 miles daily) for 8 years when Bush Co has put us our country at great risk, both financially and with national security.

John McCain’s biggest asset will be that the corporate press/media will continue to portray him favorably and will attack or suppress any source that challenges his image or reflects negatively on him. In short, they will treat him the same way they have treated Bush.

Too right you are, J-Pow. Seems there’s never an interveiw with McCain where the interviewer doesn’t trip over his own tongue trying to get “Straight Talk! Straight Talk!” on the transcript.

More seriously. John McCain’s age, as such, is not going to be an issue. I do wonder, though, how his Reagan-like style and manner of speaking will play with people in the 25-40 range.
