Richardson for President?

Looks like an announcement is coming in January.

He’s the popular New Mexico governor who has done stints in Congress, the United Nations, and the Energy Department, so it’s about time Bill Richardson had a website promoting him for president. Well, americaforrichardson.org is up and running, and its webmaster, former Richardson aide Jeff Gulko, says the goal is to get 2008’s lone Hispanic hopeful elected president. It might be working. Democrat Richardson tells us he’s mulling over a January announcement and says, "I’ve got something to offer."

I previously wrote about why I think Richardson is a possible candidate not to be ignored.

The one thing that I can think of that might come back to haunt him is the whole Wen Ho Lee scandal. As for his Major League Baseball story, much ado about nothing.

Wow. What a ringing endorsement. Richardson fits in with the Dem Party move to the right, but is still not a dynamic, TV kind of guy (same with Jeb). Best hope is as a ticket balancing selection paired with a NE liberal.

Dugger, a poster on OW not to be ignored.

Richardson probably has the best resume of any candidate on either side. And he’s strong precisely in the areas we need(energy independence, dipolomacy).

I also like that while the country was in recession he managed to maintain a balanced budget without raising taxes. Very few governors can make that boast.
