Whip Up The Rube Vote

Bush once again can’t resist being drawn into the gay marriage fray. It’s like a shiny object for him.
President Bush, speaking today at a function here for congressional candidate Jeff Lamberti (R) — whom he twice referred to as Dave — just criticized yesterday’s court ruling in New Jersey, which said that gay couples are entitled to the same rights as heterosexual couples, but left it to the state legislature to determine whether their union should be called marriage or something else.
I love how he couldn’t even get the guy’s name right. He should just say “Generic Republican”. I wonder if the religious far right rubes will think for a second about how quick Bush ran away from the gay marriage amendment the minute he rode on their backs to a second term?

Maybe Bush was just filming a “Wanna Get Away?” add for SouthWest Airlines.
There is a huge group on the religious right that will grumble about being left out.
Trust me. On election day, they will salute, and do what they are told. In the end, they believe President Bush. Facts be damned.
We act like we are dealing with rational people; we’re not. And we have to stop kidding ourselves about this.
There is no shortage of people who will vote against their own interests because they’re scared of “fags”, people of color or barking dogs. Rove lives on that truth.
