Michael J. Fox for Gov. Jim Doyle
Tweet
Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle supports stem cell research. His opponent Mark Green, does not. Michael J. Fox supports Governor Doyle.
Of course, I expect Rush Limbaugh and his Republican allies to once again say Mr. Fox is faking it.

Damn- you really like that ad, eh Oliver.
Exploitive. Pathetic. Deceitful. Misleading. Powerful.
Although, I find it kinda funny that your boy, Cardin voted against stem cell research. (I know. In know. Deceitful. Misleading. Factual.)
And, of course, Jim Talent killed Superman.

You’re an idiot.
Like I said in an earlier thread, this ad reveals the ideas motivating each side. Democrats believe Mr. Fox has a disease he wishes to have research done on to help himself and others. Republicans see a gimp and a cripple who’s being “exploited” and “used” by Democrats.
Rep. Cardin voted against half-assed stem cell research. George Bush vetoed the real thing and the Republicans stand against it.
The ad is a last-ditch effort by a losing campaign also used by McCaskill of Missouri. But the Democratic party really has a sense of knowing when to distribute these types of ads for maximum shock value and the sympathy vote. I guess whoever has the ads with the cutest babies or the saddest stories should win the elections…now that’s democracy in action!!!
Paper Machete,
I live in Wisconsin. Doyle’s been doing well.
Ah- very nicely worded Oliver. Yep- you have a way with words. Based on that, I guess I saw my Aunt and grandmother who both died with Parkinson’s as gimps and a cripples. Nice.
I suppose I could resort the the typical name calling and epithets tossed around in your comment sections, but I realize that you’re just being you.
As much as I can’t stand Ann Coulter, this is a perfect example of what she talks about. Take a popular actor (who has admitted that he intentionally goes off the meds that help stabilize him for acting, but in their absense allow the symptoms to flow for dramatic affect when testifying) who is affected by a disease make a series of political ads that stumping for Democrats, and you cannot criticize him for the substance of the ad because it’s unfair to pick on a victim- even if the ad is intentionally exploitive of the public’s ignorance of the issue in a deceitful way. Why the fear of using the term “EMBRYONIC” stem cell research, which is the only type of research we are really talking about here?
Why the deceitful message that makes it sound as if all stem cell research has been stopped- even the kinds that have shown way more promise than “embryonic” stem cell research? (You know- the types that didn’t cause tumors…)
And nimrod- do you have anything to say besides elementary school playground style name calling?
To you? In response to that? No.
Yep- Oliver. Even you admit it.
CARDIN VOTED AGAINST STEM CELL RESEARCH!!!
Way to oversimplify, Marty.
Yeah Marty, Fox certainly wouldn’t have made the ad because he believes those representatives he stumped for might support his views on stem cell research.
Nobody’s picking on him due to the substance of the ad. Your side said he’s faking or being exploited.
You are a dullard of the first order, tho your trolling leaves a bit to be desired. Now run along.
Ah, Duros. You got my point. An oversimplification. Just like Michael J. Fox’s ads.
(By the way- that’s Oliver’s M.O. Why can’t I use it too?)
Here’s one for you- stem cell research has been supported by President Bush. He’s the first American President to authorize federal funding for embryonic stem cell research.
(That’s an oversimplification too, and yet true.)
Now- can we have a serious talk about this and not just campaign tripe?
And Jody- if you want to talk about the substance of the ad, read my second comment again and let’s discuss it. That’s what I want to talk about- without having to apologize to MJF for disagreeing with the substance of the ad.
By the way- I’ve been commenting here at least four years, so let’s not worry about who’s trolling.
Oversimplifications by definition are never true. Deal with that and then we’ll talk.
So you can find another President in the history of the United States that has signed into law a bill authorizing embryonic stem cell research?
OR are you agreeing that the Michael J. Fox ads are untrue?
Wow.
“Can you find another President in the history of the United States that has signed into law a bill authorizing embryonic stem cell research”.
Using that same train of logic, I shall now declare President Reagan to be the worst president in history for not allocating additional funding for the internet.
The most ridiculous part is, after you made your inane question you sat back and thought you’ve made some kind of righteous point.
Michael J. Fox supports the candidates that will increase funding for stem cell research. Their opponents do not. He has Parkinsons, and showed it on television for all to see.
It’s all very simple.
But to you, the biggest question is how badly his Parkinson’s affects him.
Go back to Mordor, please. We have no use for you here. lol.
In the business we call that “owned”.
