Right Wing Nutjob Quote of the Day

Straight_jacketThose of you who followed along with the 2004 elections will remember an outbreak of nuttiness on the right that was extreme even for them. At certain points when John Kerry came ahead in the polls, righties started talking war and revolution. Their derangement was best expressed in this loonylogue from Michael Savage – one of the top ten conservative talk show hosts in America:

You can expect homeschooling to be eliminated if Kerry wins. You can expect the Bible to be declared a hate book if Kerry wins. You can expect the mandatory application of Ritalin to any child with spunk if Kerry wins. You can expect the complete and total elimination of border with Mexico if Kerry wins.

You can expect a rampant increase in partial-birth abortion and the sale of baby body parts if Kerry wins. You can expect an increase, not a decrease, in violence and pornography coming out of Hollywood if Kerry wins.

In that same vein come today’s comments from a blog called (ironically) Dr. Sanity, who opines on the true intent of the Democratic party:

What interests me is the transformation of the Democratic Party into a tool that every major enemy of this country–from the North Vietnamese, to the Soviets, to the Syrians all the way up to the present day– has been able to use to advance their objectives at the expense of America. As Feldman notes, this does indeed give new meaning to the term “opposition party”.

It also give new clarity to one of the issues that I have talked about on this blog repeatedly, and that is the complete betrayal by the political left in this country of the values and freedoms upon which the U.S. was founded.

The mania is turned up to 11 in this other blog’s entry:

If Democrat luminaries such as Teddy Kennedy, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, et al, had no trouble looking outside the US for political help and campaugn money, why on earth should we not assume that some Dems are dealing with Iran, Syria, Al Qaeda, Hizbollah and Hamas, to further their political aims and ambitions?

What’s funny is that lot of this hooey is tied to a story claiming that Ted Kennedy worked with Communists to take down Ronald Reagan. The story has no sourcing, only innuendo and it has been published by Brent Bozell‘s (the head of Media Research Institute who thanks to his wealthy donors popularized the idea of a “liberal bias” in the media) CNS News, an outlet with a long history of simply making crap up.

Those facts don’t matter to the people suffering from Conservative Derangement Syndrome. They’re like a top – they just need the initial spin, and off they go! In their hearts they already believe that Howard Dean and Katie Couric receive orders every day from Osama Bin Laden, it only takes the slightest shove to send their vitriol careening across the Internet.

If the Democrats pull out a win this fall, expect for this fervor to take hold of the right with an even stronger grip, and for these people and the people who read them and are inspired by them to become even more dangerous (they’re already sending terroristic threats to news outlets and personalities they don’t like).

“Ted Kennedy worked with Communists to take down Ronald Reagan.”

That’s okay. Reagan worked with the Iranians to take down Carter. It should be obvious to anyone now that the Iranian hostage crisis was an attempt to influence the American electoral process by radical muslim clerics who wanted to put American conservatives in power.

OT: “You can expect free prescription drugs, not only for the elderly but also for the AIDS patients.”

And that’s a bad thing because WHY THE FUCK?

Honestly, if I thought anyone besides bearded men in concrete bunkers wrapped in stained Old Glories actually cared what that fat fuck said, I’d probably die of despair.

Silly Nimrod. Because AIDS patients are teh gay and they deserve to die. Jerry Falwell told me God told him that.

In other words, business as usual.

This is definitely one aspect of the Right that Liberals dare not copy. Damned dolchstossers
    ::sighs::

  5. Cons are the scum of the earth. Making shit up, attacking strawmen, cherrypicking facts and stealing tax dollars are the only thing they have talent for.

  6. Nimrod Gently says:

I can believe that people exist who genuinely think like that, but I can’t believe they have nationally syndicated radio and television programmes.
