I’ll have more on this later, but Rush Limbaugh is seeing a conspiracy between the media and the left.
Now, if I read this right, it sounds to me like the old media has conference calls every day with Howard Dean and George Soros where the strategery is discussed. Now, I have said in the past, long ago, in discussing media bias, that I don’t think that the old media and the drive-bys got together and had their conference calls in the morning to decide what news was going to be and how it was going to be reported, what wasn’t going to be news and all that, I said because they don’t have to. They basically think the same, they see things the same, and I think if they do get together it’s in the bar after work over adult beverages where such unified phrases as gravitas and other things happen to spread throughout the Drive-By Media.
I was talking about this just last night with John Kerry and Brian Williams as we plotted the next couple weeks of media coverage… Oh, but I’ve said too much.
Rebuplicans are the ultimate victims. Boo friggin hoo.
I cannot even begin to imagine living my life like that.
booga-boogga-booga!!
Innit Rush part of “the media”?
Just askin’, that’s all.
Of course the whole “Democrats collude with the media to propagandize” thing is probably one of the talking points handed out when the Republicans collude with the media to propagandize
Whats Irony again?
Rex, Irony is when your shirts is wrinkled.
Satire’s on the sa car.
Oliver, please don’t dignify Rush by acknowledging anything he says. Who but dittoheads even take him seriously?
Like Coulter, he needs to be ignored.
The media is overwhelmingy liberal and will minimize Democrat errors and maximize Republican errors.
Says Dugger without a hint of irony. Drink up that kool-aid.
aw, rush is just upset because he has to actually have dick cheney on his show to get his story straight.
guess it sucks when the facts are all liberal.
I’m sorry Dugger did you write that the media will “maximize Republican errors.”
You mean like the Republican “error” in Iraq?
In the not so distant future, conservatives will drone on and on about how the liberal media brought about our failure in Iraq. You can almost hear them pining for the final failure now, drooling over the prospect of dragging their sad, conspiracy-adled victimhood out for another generation: “We said it all along, Iraq was just like Vietnam, another liberal stab in the back. New York Times reporters may as well have planted the IEDs themselves. And does anyone have any proof that they didn’t?”
Anyone with access to the facts of this administration’s monumental failures in planning for and coping with the realities of post-invasion occupation, would readily see this as the bullshit it is.
But then again, in a few years time, all of that will have faded into the amnestic fog of celebrity breakups, missing white women and fad diets. During the pop culture hangover of this war, before history has a chance to step in and remind us of what horrible asses we made of ourselves the long night before, right wing pundits and blogs and think tanks will begin churning out their studies and reports and anecdotal evidence designed to drag that mushy headed feeling out a little longer.
Hell, can anyone remember now with any clarity, just three years later, why we went into Iraq? Wasn’t it WMD? … No, no of course not, the grave and gathering threat was only one small reason among many. It was always all about democracy and freedom.
But I don’t remember that … No, No, No, you’re just thinking of what the liberal media told you … But I remember all the front page stories and all the Sunday talk shows and all the talk radio shows and they we’re all talking about WMD … No, it was always all about freedom …
Only in the future, they’ll add regretfully, that it was always about freedom until the primitive nature of the Arab mind forced us to reinstall a military strongman to restore order. But even that would not have been necessary if not for the liberal media.
They’ll tell us that Bush’s plan would have worked if only the Dixie Chicks had not spit on those injured soldiers backstage. Remember that? There were eye-witness who testified at the time that it happened. Michelle Malkin said so. It was right after Michael Moore returned from his secret trip to Falluja to meet with the Iraqi “freedom fighters.”
Remember? It was all the media’s fault.
Hey, frame. Iraq might be an error – in a geo-political macro sense. Might not. Right now, less are dying in that area of the world than were under Saddam.
“Right now, less are dying in that area of the world than were under Saddam.”
Sure Dugger, and that’s why we invaded, so that less Iraqis would die horrible violent deaths.
You just proved my point, idiot.
