The Religious Right Vote

Some folks seem to think that the religious right voting bloc is something of a woo-able segment for Democrats, and like the recent polls showing them discouraged before the fall election. I think the likeliness of any significant amount of these folks becoming Democratic is slim or none, our world views are just not compatible. Please note I’m not talking about the religious, one of the most religious segments in the population – black Americans – are solidly Democratic. I also don’t write off politically moderate religious folks either, many of them have voted Democratic in the past, and will in the future.

What I am willing to write off are the anti-choice crazies, the people who think the End Times are mere moments away or who dedicate their lives to following around a false idol. These people shouldn’t be voting in the first place. Republicans have relied on and used the rubes in order to get slight advantages in close electoral times, but they don’t represent a majority on the right much less in all of America. Democrats should not waste any time courting this vote, or hoping it moves left.

Democrats should just tell ‘em “Why even bother voting when the Rapture is gonna come anyway?”

Yes we think God sucks, but remember not to offend the Negros (we need their vote). Don’t worry anyway we Democrats have them under our thumb.

You may not be aware of this Snoop, but there is more to sarcasm and satire than just saying things that are offensive and entirely untrue. But then I suppose your crack-whore mother and homosexual-transvestite-dog-rapist father didnt raise you any better.

Yeah. Neither should the niggers or the fags.

What’s wrong with trying to take care of the poor and downtrodden? There’s definitely some common ground we could find between the left and the religious right.
