The Departed

I cannot possibly give a higher rating than the one I give to the new film, The Departed. Great performances all around with a gripping story that holds you for the film’s entire length. This film perfectly captures the “mood” of Boston (I could identify several locations, including a bench I once sat on and ate lunch at on the Boston Common) in a way I’ve only seen in Mystic River. Go see it.

Why would I want to see a Hollywood remake of that great Hong Kong film, Infernal Affairs? If there is one thing you can count on, it’s that Hollywood will ruin a good foreign film.
