Republican Pedophile Scandal: Right Wing Goes Over The Line Online

In their quest to utterly destroy anyone who opposes them, right-wing bloggers have dug up the identity of the kid at the heart of the Foley sex scandal.

I ask, what purpose does this serve? What higher purpose does it go towards to expose the name of a young man who didn’t ask to be the subject of a congressman’s lecherous desires?

Come. On.

Frankly, I’ve been waiting for this to happen. For these people it’s all about intimidation. From Michelle Malkin publishing contact info for college students she disagreed with the implied directive to her knucle-dragging followers of “Sic ‘em!” to this, the extremist authoritarian right will spare no effort to terrorize anyone in this country to shut them the hell up if it threatens their hold on power.

    But I can say this.

I don’t never ever ever ever never want to hear one more goddam word about how the Rethuglicans are the party of values, of ethics, of God or any like garbage!

  2. Why did they do it?
    A) They believe that if they can show the kid was 18, then they’ll be off the hook somehow.

    B) They think that if the kid is trying to hurt Republicans, then he deserves what he gets.

As said on Free Republic (truly the worst site on the web: “This kid got in deep. His IM’s result in the Congress going to the other party. He chose to record (not the default) the test of his IMs. He chose to have a dalliance with a representative. He could have come forward in the last few days to “clear the air” and set the record straight. It is time to pay it to the piper. He gets no sympathy from me and my congrats to the blogger who did an excellent investigation.”

That’s Free Republic for you. Nothing is beyond the pale when it comes to GOP power, the first and only principle.

  3. Another angle is that they’re trying to blame this on the anti-Bush media, which they believe has tried to swing elections with ginned up scandals in the past. However, the more pages that come forward with their own stories, as there seem to be, the less relevant it will be that the first page was or wasn’t underage, and the harder it will be to distract the public. The anti-media angle will work on the die-hard conservative nutballs. Jay or Dugger will be here tomorrow to express their latest example of conservative victimhood.

  4. One more thing: I can’t wait to see how the FBI likes the Free Republic freaks shitting on their investigation.

    Think about it Oliver.

    Those actions by right-wing

    demogogs makes them almost

    child abusers themselves -

    at the very least pedophile,

    child abuse supporters is

    what it makes them.

  6. factcheck says:

Funny thing is the person they falsely accused… is a Republican activist working for another Congressman’s campaign.

I guess they figure the trail would lead right to the Clenis himself. D’oh!

  7. frameone says:

    Scumbags.

  8. Diamond LeGrande says:

The only instance in which I can see exposing the victim were if he were making false accusations, and not even Foley is claiming this.

I’m starting to wonder if the Republicans are trying to lose control of Congress. They have been the absolute masters of getting elected for years now, and this scandal in particular was predictable. Had Hastert dealt with this last winter, it would be a near trivial charge — it isn’t the fault of the House Republican leadership that Mark Foley is a pedophile — and the Republicans would have a replacement for Foley’s seat.

    AMEN!
I have finally figured out that when conservatives speak, they mean exactly the opposite of what they say.

    Clean Air Bill.
    Clean Water Act.
    No Child Left Behind.
    Homeland Security.
    Family Values.
    FEMA.
