Twilight Of The Truly Dumb
Tweet
Writing at The Moderate Voice, Jack Grant says that this so-called mea culpa from a con blogger is worthy of praise. Bull.
The right has supported the Iraq war through thick and thin, ignoring all the bad news and consistently wagging their finger at the left and slamming the media for not covering the latest happy Iraqi story about some school that opened while car bombs go off every 15 minutes.
This was a Republican war enabled by a whipped congress. It is a Republican war continued by a Republican administration so tied up in domestic success it refuses to change strategy or tactics that could lead to greater safety for Americans and Iraqis. The blood of our troops and Iraqi innocents is on the hands of the enablers of this war.
A mea culpa three years after the fact from such vehement war supporters is kinda bull.

I was wrong for supporting this administration’s decision to invade Iraq … Now on to IRAN!
You say it is bull. But what does that mean?
I mean, I admit I was STUPID STUPID STUPID to vote for George Bush in 2000.
What else can or should I or others do when we see we have made a dumb mistake other than offer a mea culpa?
“This was a Republican war enabled by a whipped congress.”
Ahh. Stupid, stuttering frat boy made you do it. Bamboozled a majority of senate Democrats. And these are the people that should be leading us?????? Are you saying that? Stupid ol’ W can trick them every which way and you would turn over the reign of governemnt to these yokels? Eveidntly he is still Svengali-ing Hillary. She won’t withdraw ona set schedule.
How do you blithering geniuses expalin that???
I didn’t say that and you know I didn’t say that. Congress was dumb to give Bush the power to wage war, he was even dumber to go ahead with it, and criminal to go about it the way he did. Is that clear, did I stutter?
Not at all clear and yes, I detected a cyber stutter.
Mia Culpa? Forget it.
Tie Iraq aorund the necks of those who supported it for eternity and remind their children (if they are allowed to breed) not to be as dumb as their parents.
Better yet, ship every wingnut over to Iraq and have them rebuild it brick by brick.
Read the prodigal son story. Every time anyone sees the light, we should make sure that they really have opened their eyes (i.e. not a McCain), and then welcome them, celebrate their awakening, and put them to work.
I detected a cyber stutter.
You might want to check your network connections.
Dugger, Bush lied people died, and now you want to try to shove the responsibility for Bush’s bad decisions onto congress. Nice.
Janus,
Oliver and PD100 are able to see that Bush’s extremism has energized his adversaries, the terrorists.
They are quite incapable of seeing that their own extremism has energized their domestic political adversaries, i.e. Bush.
One might suppose, that even if for purely tactical reasons Oliver and his ilk would display a modicum of grace.
Thanks Commissar. In fairness, “We told you so retardoe” seems an entirely appropriate and irresistably tempting reply. Who expects forgiveness or strategy to come easy?
